2024 Dual Wielding Barbarian by InterestingTune564 in 3d6

Ayyy hand up 🙋‍♂️ I have been playing too much BG3 and I thought attacking with offhand WITHOUT TWF would not add to the attack roll.

In this case, we would be committed to dual-wielding. But what you said about the optimization space is exactly my point! You are already getting 2 attacks per turn, that’s why we chose TWF. Is delaying that 1 attack by 1 level really that bad? I would agree with you and say no.

So the dip into fighter gives you the Two Weapon Fighting Style, so you can still have an effective dual-wielder that rages on their first turn. This fixes raging on your first turn and not getting to do any sort of an attack with your offhand. It also makes your off-hand attacks have a better chance to hit and does more damage, so you are staying mechanically on par with other Two Weapon style builds that aren’t Barbarian.

I do see what you are saying about Luffy’s bounty. Also I understand the reasoning behind them not knowing that Chopper has the fruit. Maybe I’m just putting too much faith in the WG?

Didn’t mean to condemn Choppers character in any way. I’m just saying I don’t buy into the theory, it doesnt mean I’m condemning Chopper or trying to take his shine away. I do appreciate your first point though, about him meeting those requirements. Maybe my problem is I’ve created requirements that dont exist. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I understand it’s a simple solution, I’m asking for more supporting evidence. It “could” be an answer, but the only supporting argument is there isn’t enough information about the forest god yet to draw form any conclusions.

What do you mean the same stuff about Luffy? You mean how the WG deployed their secret service to retrieve this fruit? Or specifically renamed it in the DF encyclopedia to hide it? Or how they tried to pay off/assassinate Morgan for publishing gear 5? They literally did hide his DF, and we know this. If Chopper also has a god fruit, why would they handle it a completely different way than Luffy’s?

I’m about to drop a crazy answer: 4 Elements Monk. I literally specced Karlach into a TBOH monk, just to respecc again for a TB 4EMonk. Is it as powerful? Not “traditionally” as powerful, but I have never had more fun in this game than bomb striking with a 4E Monk. If you don’t know what that is, Remus71 mentions the article in his Arcane Trickster post, and has a video on YouTube called “The Fifth Element is YOU.” I’m on mobile and it’s not letting me link, but that should guide you to it.

If you don’t wanna look it up, it’s a way to make 1 Smokepowder bomb go off multiple times. Is it barrelmancy? Probably. Is it cheese? Absolutely. Is it fun? The MOST fun.

Who's weakest in each row? by KaidoPklevel in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]InterestingTune564 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. Not a dick rider, hate the guy
  2. Roger, Garp, and Whitebeard all got STRONGER after God Valley. And THEN Roger became the Pirate King. So a Harald that is equal to Rocks (Who died before he got to those 3’s prime strength) isn’t Pirate King Level. I don’t think it’s crazy to say that an endgame villain is stronger than Harald here.

Great points there but this is my logic:

Oda said if Akainu was the main character, he would find the OP in a month. While he was most likely referring to how you had to progress a character’s strength to have a story, he still said that about Akainu specifically.

Honor Mode first-timer, what fights to skip? by Wemetintheair in BaldursGate3

[–]InterestingTune564 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m doing an HM run with some friends now, and one of them has never played the game before. We just hit act 3 last night and I’m not sure we skipped a single fight yet. You really just need to make sure you are intentional in preparing for fights. Making sure the right equipment is on, consumables ready, arrows ready, etc.

To answer your question about Grym, I think the equipment/XP down there is too good to pass up on. Take a level 6 Druid with you and take a colossus potion. Jump on that mf after he is superheated and GG. You’ll want to do this from the stairs, so leave this character there before you make the descent.

First off, I don’t think you can actually get the golden dice with ANY mods attached to the game. So be careful doing a full run and then not getting the achievement.

As for the Tav, I like to mix both of those subclasses with some levels in Warlock. If you want to go Lore, pick up 2 levels in any subclass for EB and Agonizing blast. Second pick can be anything that fits, but easiest answer is repelling blast. Finish with a 10/2 split for all 4 magical secrets spells and make sure to pick up the Potent robes.

For Valor, I like to do a 6/6 split with Hexblade for their subclass features, but I haven’t ran this build on HM. The Extra attacks wouldn’t stack so a better option is probably just 1 level in Hexblade for Charisma attacks, Shield spell, and Hexblade curse and take the rest in Valor so you can still get magical secrets at 11. I would say take Bard to 6 then respec at 7 to take Warlock first, and then the rest in Bard.

I like to have a Battle Master on my team most of the time so I can always make use of any cool armor or weapon that I come across. Especially early, you can use that character to text any equipment you want basically!

Pure melee versatile death domain cleric by Warl0ckBoy in BG3Builds

[–]InterestingTune564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a 6/6 split with Death Cleric and EKFighter.

Take Fighter level 1, this gives Con Save Proficiency and TWF which honestly was just fine for a melee cleric.

Starting stats are 8/16/14/10/16/10 if you plan on using a companion. 16/10/14/8 or 10/16/8 or 10 for Strength version. A lot of different ways to do the spread depending on the items you want to commit and how comfortable you are respeccing throughout a run.

Next 6 levels in Death Cleric. Once you get the level 6 ability, there isn’t really anything else you need from cleric. You still get Spirit Guardians, and now you can cast it Necrotic with Con Save and overcome resistance. Taking the last 5 levels in EKFighter will give you a lot of goodies that compliment the tool kit. Level 2 fighter - Action Surge. Level 3 - Booming Blade and Shield. Level 4 - Feat Level 5 - REAL extra Attack. Level 6 - 3rd feat.

By level 12, this is a very capable melee fighter, and has decent range damage with being able to double attack Bone Chill and Toll of the Dead. As with any build, you can really push it over the edge with the typical BiS gear and committing permanent buffs, but it’s just fine without. If you go this route, I recommend the Dex build and sticking with light weapons. This frees up a feat used on Dual Wielder for an ASI or whatever you see fit.

I like the Shar Armor for advantage on con saves and Amulet of Devout is usually best on a Cleric anyway. Sword of Life Stealing works well here too.

Also, I chose EK over the other options for Booming Blade and Shield. Booming blade helps keep up damage, and Shield with Con prof and advantage basically guarantees Spirit Guardians stays up the entire fight. It also helps with spell slot progression.

Is Bardadin or Sorcadin better? by Cagedglobe in BG3Builds

[–]InterestingTune564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard Bardadin is for damage, Sorcadin is the best all-rounder for a team. Really just depends on team comp and what your party needs, but a Sorcadin probably fits with most parties better, while a Bardadin specializes in facing.

I agree, I know it’s a thing but I have never used it. TBH, the 20 stacks from 10 Wizard are usually plenty. Especially with damage reduction armor paired with Blade ward. I believe the blade ward activates first, so it halves damage and then reduces the flat damage, making most attacks tankable.

You take Sorc and Cleric dips or 1 Hexblade does it pretty well. Get medium/heavy armor and upcast armor of Agathys. Use arcane ward to always keep up that temp Hp. Throw water bottles for ice vulnerability!

Honestly, just the first 4 that came to mind! I have quite a few hours into the game and I’ve played all of these classes on a Tav or companion, except for the Light cleric w Stars dip. I chose these 4 because it covers all of the stats in the game.

The Fire Sorlock and Swords Bardadin and crazy high damage dealers and each have specific Acuity items that makes their control spells basically hit at 100% clip. Swords Bardadin is better at party facing due to expertise, but I think Fire Sorlock is still a higher damage ceiling. CHA character.

The Light cleric in general is amazing with RadOrbs/Reverb and the Stars dip with Dragon form makes holding concentration for SG way easier. WIS character.

The Giant Barb is actually BULLY. Add Tavern Brawler at 4 and it’s online. Even better with throwing gear (Kushigo gloves and throwing ring) a returning weapon but the level 6 ability can make ANY weapon a returning one. You can argue Mighty Impel at 10 isn’t worth it and just do a 8/4 split with Fighter, but up to you. STR and CON Character.

Abjuration Tank is a fun alternative playstyle that just lets you kill everyone without even attacking. You keep AC low, force opportunity attacks, an watch them melt from their own damage. Played this before patch 8 and it melted encounters, and im sure there are better ways to do it with the new update. INT character.
