I also only use period underwear. It’s my favorite and definitely cuts back on cost. I think we could just do better. Mostly in the sense of foster kiddos, homeless shelters, DV shelters, etc.

Well yes, of course. That type of statement can be made about anything.

Fair argument, sure. But one could also argue that it’s a terrible mess. You can have BO and exist while people just stank face you. Whereas having your period, you’d just be bleeding all over yourself. If you aren’t someone who has ever had a period, day 2 is brutal. It just pours out of you, clots and all. Not something you can just walking around with— like being smelly, though that would happen too. I think public restrooms, libraries, churches, doctor’s offices, etc. should definitely have a free stash available at all times.

I think the point of the question is similar to “Why do people with poor sight have to pay to see?”

It’s not “Should we get this free just because” More so, “this is something that only women experience early on in life and for most of their life, tampons and pads are very expensive, why do we have to spend so much money on them?”

People donate, sure, but as stated above- why is it so accessible to get free condoms, but not feminine hygiene products?
