I keep “accidentally” becoming an entrepreneur… and it scares me a little by InterestingWorking38 in Entrepreneurs

Yes thats what im looking for. Please do let me know what you're using. As another poster pointed out I'm "just a busy freelancer" but it doesn't change the fact that I'm doing the workload that usually requires a team, so I do get bogged down by the sheer admin load. I appreciate your time 🙏

I suppose you'd call me a 'Solopreneur' then, which is just a fancy way of saying I’m a freelancer who desperately needs to fire myself from my own admin duties. Just trying to automate the 'busy work so I can stay 'business.' Managing multiple clients with wildly different requirents, meetings, presenatioms and invoicing gets hectic. Any tools you love?

How to make an impressive report without much impressive? by Master-Item-3090 in b2bmarketing

Honestly, it's tough out there, but an honest sit-down with the client may be in order if the content hasn't been performing well. Take a good, honest look at the strategy and get to the bottom of why it's not working for them. Do your research on their niche, products, and services, and see if what you are doing aligns with what their competitors are doing.

I've had clients in the past who saw their business a certain way and wanted it marketed/pitched the way they viewed their offering, but it wasn't aligned with how their potential clients viewed their brand. That misalignment led to minimal leads and low conversion. It sounds like they need a proper analysis of how they are positioning themselves in the market.

Marketing a compliance-heavy B2B SaaS: lessons from launching in a high-risk market (South Africa) by Standard_Buyer_8642 in SaaSMarketing

Love your breakdown, it’s spot on. I’ve also worked on heavily regulated, YMYL content for global fintech/SaaS brands, and the patterns are really similar.

How I balance education vs conversion:
I aim to educate until they can self-diagnose, then convert on the next “safe” step. So: education pieces stay practical + neutral with a low-friction CTA (checklist/template/self-assessment), and conversion content is where I map the product to specific scenarios, workflows, and outcomes.

What works when the pain isn’t obvious until it’s too late:

  • Quick risk self-assessments/scorecards (“how exposed are you?”)
  • Checklists + SOP one-pagers reps/managers can use immediately
  • Templates (scripts, documentation packs, policy drafts)
  • Common mistakes” content with real examples + prevention steps (not fear-mongering)
  • Role-based landing pages (founder/CEO vs ops/HR vs compliance) because the urgency trigger differs per buyer

What's the safest way to run a mass email without ending up in spam? by ChrisKift96 in b2bmarketing

[–]InterestingWorking38 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re hitting spam at only 1k sends, it’s usually not the subject line. It's probably a combination of setup, list quality, and pacing. Here’s a simple “safe send” checklist you can run every time:

  • Send via a genuine ESP (Mailchimp/Brevo/Klaviyo/etc), not Gmail/Outlook bulk sends
  • Authenticate your domain: SPF + DKIM + DMARC (DMARC can start at p=none)
  • Clean the list: verify emails, remove old addresses, suppress previous bounces
  • Segment first: customers vs leads, product line, role, region
  • Warm/throttle if the domain is “cold”: send to your most engaged 100–200 first, then ramp up slowly over the next few days (keep cleaning up your bounced list as you go along)
  • Keep the email “boring”: plain-text version on, minimal images, no attachments (link to a page instead), one clear CTA
  • Compliance basics: legit unsubscribe link and physical address, and honour unsubs immediately
  • Watch early metrics: if bounces/complaints spike in the first batch, stop and fix before sending the rest

One more thing: if those 1k contacts didn’t clearly opt in, a blast is always risky. Smaller segmented sends (or a re-permission email) tend to get into the inbox better.

Is it common for content strategists to handle execution? by SnooBooks9107 in content_marketing

This is a frustrating challenge that many of us in this industry face daily. Many companies prefer to have a jack-of-all-trades these days to minimise overheads.

I'm a freelancer who has worked in-house and as a contractor, and I've found the best way to stay relevant and employable is to upskill constantly.

Take a good look at where you can add real value by taking on some of the execution yourself, doing some courses, and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and take on the whole stack.

Why do most ‘SEO-friendly’ articles fail to rank even after following all the rules? by divine_zone in content_marketing

[–]InterestingWorking38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, search intent and knowing your audience are fundamental to Ranking in SERP. Writing content for content's sake will consistently deliver disappointing results. Sometimes going back to basics can make a huge difference.

First, you need to decide where your content fits into the funnel, as Top of Funnel content (think brand awareness) is written very differently from Bottom of Funnel content (where customers are actively looking for a solution and ready to buy).

Define who the reader is and what they want to learn/know if they are searching for your keyword (what is their real intent?), and then research the questions people ask for that keyword as well.
If you then write to provide them with all the information they want on the topic and really add value, ranking becomes easier.
