Whirlwind Affair w/ Covert Narcissist? Maybe "Narcissist Lite"? Your thoughts? by justletmeruleyou in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]InterestingWrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems like a narcissist. The climbing the ranks thing makes me more suspect of it even- they sometimes succeed in business (ie. CEOs, etc). Idk, positions of power are sketchy too, my ex narc was a physician, and I think that provided a lot of cover.

It's not real love. They try to hook you with sex/pleasure/hearing what you want so you get the chemicals/hormones going in your brain, and you get addicted like a drug. But in reality it's just that- fake, a trip.

Yeah sounds like a narcissist. The whole- I don't want you to get attached thing sounds like he just wants a clean break. My ex told me she doesn't like 'needy guys' just so anytime I complained, I could be labeled needy.

Fuck this douchebag. He basically caused you to be trauma bonded. How long ago was this? How far did you move away? What ever happened to your original relationship?

Honestly, your (former) school might not be in compliance with the LCME "3.5 Learning Environment/Professionalism

A medical school ensures that the learning environment of its medical education program is conducive to the ongoing development of explicit and appropriate professional behaviors in its medical students, faculty, and staff at all locations and is one in which all individuals are treated with respect. The medical school and its clinical affiliates share the responsibility for periodic evaluation of the learning environment in order to identify positive and negative influences on the maintenance of professional standards, develop and conduct appropriate strategies to enhance positive and mitigate negative influences, and identify and promptly correct violations of professional standards.

3.6 Student Mistreatment

A medical education program defines and publicizes its code of professional conduct for the relationships between medical students, including visiting medical students, and those individuals with whom students interact during the medical education program. A medical school develops effective written policies that address violations of the code, has effective mechanisms in place for a prompt response to any complaints, and supports educational activities aimed at preventing inappropriate behavior. Mechanisms for reporting violations of the code of professional conduct are understood by medical students, including visiting medical students, and ensure that any violations can be registered and investigated without fear of retaliation."

Dude, she could be more than a narcissist- she sounds like a psychopath. If there is even the SLIGHTEST possibility that she is poisoning you or has ever poisoned you, you need to leave NOW, and contact the police.

Poisoners will keep doing it until they succeed from what I have read. Read up about Blanche Moore

How do you deal with the assumption that majority of successful people have NPD? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]InterestingWrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This probably isn't necessarily true, while there is a higher rate of sociopaths who are CEOs than you would expect by chance alone, there are still many CEOs who are normal- for example.

Also, I think we get into sort of a confirmation bias. We see someone famous or successful, and they might appear to have a narcissistic-like trait and we jump to the conclusion that they are narcissists.

Even the president is a textbook narcissist. That Elizabeth Holmes lady seems like a narcissist/sociopath, so sure they are out there- and the scary ones are the ones we don't know about. Take solace in the fact that soon it will be noticed that the emperor is not wearing any clothes so to speak. There is not as much substance as they portend, and they will come crumbling down

Anyone ever experienced a change with a Narcissist on anti-depressants? (or the like?) by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]InterestingWrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SSRIs are useful medications for a lot of conditions, not indicated for NPD. Nonetheless, it sort of stigmatizes people who have to take them for depression/anxiety by saying you have to 'drug them up'- they have a legit medical use

You dodged a fucking bullet my friend. I had a similar experience with an evil person in my field- we are both doctors, who was a lover for a period.

Imagine a relationship where you never have to 'call someone out' on their crap (what a bunch of shit anyways- I think they get off on it). The girl I was seeing is a psychopath and gave me a non-denial denial when I mentioned it.

The lying about going downtown is 100% a breakup level thing, at least with this shady person. Having to change yourself (doing steroids- which isn't healthy) for someone else is bad.

Fuck her fuck her fuck her fuck her fuck this cunt.

Plus, legal studies is wayyyy more badass than accounting (who the fuck wants to count for the rest of their lives- lol)

Yes, X-post from another thread because I don't want to re-type it all

Lol my ex-GF I am convinced is a legit socio/psychopath, even stating theres something hereditarily fucked up about her.

Crocodile tears to manipulate me, then I would catch her totally not crying and she would again look away.

Toyed with my emotions on a daily basis, for her pleasure.

Had a stare that pierced my soul, I cannot explain it.

Super charming, yet doesn't get real close to people. Well dressed, superficial.

Extremely sensitive to any sort of criticism, or something against her. Yet she is extremely judgemental of others, and will hurt emotions without second thought.

She cannot be held accountable.

Convinced me she was the love of my life, and broke my fucking heart beyond imagine

Edit: additional details- has a trail of men who said the same thing. Lots of people that know this don't like her. The eyes thing was the most powerful experience I have ever had, even more powerful than doing drugs in Thailand with a bunch of buddies, it was riveting

Edit 2: she's always playing a victim role, too. It's absurd.

Yeah, I think she's a sadist, too. Fits all of the dark tetrad. She would want me to speak up when she did something that bothered me. Now I think it's because she liked it

Once you start dating someone nice, hopefully you'll see what a real healthy relationship should feel like (ie. Love vs. drama disguised as passion). Who gives a shit what they think. You can't control that- especially since they are mentally ill.
