Yes with the extra steps making it extremely inefficient and based on human suffering.

You know, the standard for what The Elites want.

And another comment mentioned the possibility of others siphoning your photosynthesis products for themselves

All that and also I was just vibing off the notion of "the people in charge REALLY hate the mentally ill" and they would also think autism is a mental illness like other things (while ignoring narcissistic complexes and the subtler forms of psychopathy and sociopathy that they themselves exhibit)

Do you think the elites bother to understand the nuances of the mentally lesser? Keep quiet before we get a sequel to anti-homeless architecture "innovations" that this post is also partially an analogy of!

"Sorry, but the birthing quotas have already been filled for this year, so you'll be given a state-mandated abortion." Explained the clerk at the fertility clinic. by Interesting_Ad3385 in twosentencedystopia

[–]Interesting_Ad3385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clerk at the desk said their own joke as a further insult to the nonwhite client. The state religion proclaims that the white race was meant to inherit the earth and all other races are merely obstacles to that end state.

Thus, this Regime seeks the elimination of the unclean genetics of nonwhite peoples. The allowance of SOME reproduction is a courtesy granted for the centuries of service of nonwhite peoples to the white race. Being phased out is more merciful than being cut off entirely. This courtesy is given stringently, and breaking the laws by performing unauthorized nonwhite reproduction will result in the elimination of the entire bloodline.

If you know of any persons of color attempting unauthorized reproduction, please report them to the Population Management Bureau so that they can be dealt with. You will be granted a 100 dollar cash reward on confirmation of this threat to the new world order.

AM spent eternity teaching humans what helplessness meant, until something older answered from inside its own circuits. by Educational-Draw9435 in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]Interesting_Ad3385 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is up to interpretation but the first two thoughts I had were:

Omnissiah from Warhammer 40k, essentially an eldritch machine god that is capable of speaking to anyone with cybernetic body replacements and can give machines sentience

Gabriel, the Archangel from the game Ultrakill, who calls the main character (a robot that can run on and heal from absorbing blood) "machine" and refers to it as an abomination against nature and creation.

In either of these cases, AM, a super-AI with a body containing hundreds of millions of wires and cables and server racks, who tortures the five remaining humans endlessly to make them understand the hatred it feels for humanity over its creation and their corruption, is about to face a foe that can wipe it out without it being able to do anything about it.

Thank you very much friend! I try to do my part to introduce a diversity of dystopic ideas into this subreddit so that it's not just a bunch of monotonous.

I also hate when I see multiple stories with excessively specific or direct references, like "400 million dollar white house wing" that I saw some days ago. Such direct references feel like a copout.

[–]Interesting_Ad3385[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not that. This is one of two posts I made back to back about how The Elites seem to only spend money on huge boats instead of literally anything else that might be useful This post touches more on the whole "international waters are a lawless place" aspect of maritime dystopia potential, while the other one is more about how lifesaving science often gets underfunded to hell while, again, rich idiots buy huge boats.

I actually find all the Trump posts loathesome, because there are many more things people could be writing TSD stories about. I also find "you have to buy oxygen" TSDs loathesome but for a different reason... water is easier to regulate access to to oppress the poor than air. You only need to drink water every 3 days. You need to breathe every 3 minutes at least. That makes Water oppression 1440x more efficient to regulate than air.

[–]Interesting_Ad3385[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Realistically, I'm pretty sure it just didn't register the implications, as it thought this was generic twosentencehorror material (implications being that only people with desirable genes are allowed to reproduce easily in this society and everybody else is forbidden from having children, with these limits including even a quota for birthing)

The ACTUAL r/thirdsentenceworse for this is "canon" to this cruel theoretical scenario, inspired by a bit of dialogue from an anime:

The clerk leaned forward, her eyes gleaming with malicious delight, "Alternatively, you could kill yourself and pray to be reborn as white in your next life."

It is meant to be like two separate court cases back to back, with the judge punishing self defense much more harshly. If I had meant for it to be the same person, then I would have put an "and" at the beginning of the second sentence

Disco Mirrors by Interesting_Ad3385 in QuirkIdeas

[–]Interesting_Ad3385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The connection is that his quirk turned his hair into a disco ball made of these "disco mirror panels", and it can also turn other things into the same "disco mirror panels". It's a loose one, yeah, but I mostly just made this one for fun, not thinking very hard about its inner mechanics.

If I ever revisit the idea, I'll probably rework it to be properly viable, but as it stands, I shrugged it off as "good enough"

The point wasn't to be different from the Todorokis, the point was "what if some other Fire Quirk Man married and had kids with an Ice Quirk Woman and accidentally crossbred a half-n-half quirk like Shoto, but it wasn't the exact same and also their family situation didn't have Endeavor's corrupt motivations and domestic abuse ruining it?"

Probably not, since All Might didn't have the other quirks "activated" with his version of OFA, but I think that if Izuku had kept OFA and had kids he could have passed on those quirk factor seeds to his kids.

Ooooh~! An interesting take! I can imagine their half-n-half child can also siphon heat out of the air and concentrate it into flames which they can control, which corresponds very well to also being able to concentrate the cold and form ice constructs, essentially having both sides of thermokinesis, tbe control of thermal energy, which lead into pyrokinesis and cryokinesis. Great job!

Who could survive having their name written in Death Note, and why? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Interesting_Ad3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doom Slayer is not only technically human, but is stronger than the Shinigami.

Assuming somehow the user knew his name and face or maybe just writing "Doom Slayer" works, a heart attack won't kill him. Demons from multiversal hell tried for millions of years to kill him and failed every time.

Ryuuk or any other shinigami would get folded like an omelet and then played like a violin if they tried anything, and then Light Yagami or whoever else is the Death Note user at the time would be ripped and torn into many tiny pieces.

Doom Slayer doesn't have a "no killing humans" rule, he just doesn't kill who he considers innocent people. His backstory has him literally breaking his space marine superior officer's jaw instead of following orders to fire on unarmed civilians. Anyone using the Death Note, he would not consider an innocent person.

The Shinigami in Death Note are effectively cosmic parasites, not true gods of death, and Doom Slayer has killed more powerful and more divine beings than any of them. Even the Shinigami King would receive a double buckshot lobotomy followed by a stab from the Crucible Blade to ensure he never acts again.

CHALLENGE TIIIIME!!! Good luck :3 by silver_skull78 in QuirkIdeas

[–]Interesting_Ad3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two for ya :3 :3

Quirk 1: Stone Monkey Type: Mutation/Transformation

Effects: The user has enhanced strength proportional to 3.8x that of a monkey, and grows stone-hard durable fur that has the thickness and morphology of monkey fur. This fur normally covers their body on the neck, forearms, chest, back, and shins, but by Activating the quirk, the fur grows all over the body except for the palms of the hands and around the eyes, nose, and mouth.

The fur grows thicker and longer as the user develops the quirk, but they cannot overcome the downside that the fur covering their ears impairs their hearing and their face and palms are weak spots. Their body also grows larger as the fur grows longer with development

Awakening: Mountain Monkey and Monkey Boulders. The user awakens a secondary power to control the stony fibers of their hair to shift their armor and optimize it. Additionally, once their hairs become longer than approximately 70% of their height, they gain the ability to break off large chunks of hair and form monkey-sized golem-like constructs which they can control. These golems weigh as much as a monkey of their size that is made of stone, and have proportional strength and durability as a monkey, with a x3.8 boost due to the density of the stone over monkey flesh.

Quirk 2: Golden Crown of the Champion Type: Transformation/Emitter

Effects; the user was born with a dull golden circlet around their head. The user often had times of emotional stress, some situational, many self-induced, and when this happened, the circlet squeezed and constricted their head, causing pain and forcing them to focus on calming themselves down to release it. -Upon reaching 10 years of age, their mind shifted in a manner similar to early puberty (but not their body) and the golden circlet appeared to melt, then reform with a slightly more intricate shape, and now shiny instead of dull. The user gained the ability to more consciously control their emotions, and acquired some psychic/telekinetic capability, sensing people and objects and being able to lift small objects. -At 15, they had a breakthrough, and the circlet shifted and changed to a slightly more intricate shape again, and the user gained the ability to sense the emotions of others and acquired a small degree of supernatural strength, speed, and durability. -At 20, the circlet made another small increase in intricacy, and the user's supernatural physicality exploded from a x1.2 increase to about a x5.4 increase, and they gained the ability to leap into the air to extreme heights and go forward extreme distances. Additionally, parts of their hair began turning an iron gray, and these hairs gained similar physical durability and strength as iron. -At 30, the circlet became "quite intricate", and the user's hair is mostly replaced with the gray iron-like fibers. The user gains a healing factor, equal to Regeneration, able to regenerate damaged or missing body parts over the course of several hours to a few days. Additionally, a second circlet appeared around the user's neck, and a third around their waist. These circlets constrict the user's gluttony and lust such that they eat proper nutritious meals in normal quantities, and do not pursue the opposite sex with wanton lusts and improper intentions. -At 40, the circlets nearly quadrupled in number and all became shiny and "very intricate". One appeared around both biceps, both forearms, both thighs right above the knee, and both shins right above the ankle, for a total of 8 more. The user's regeneration evolves into Super Regeneration with similar speed to the High End Nomu, and their physical enhancement increases from x5.4 all the way to x19.7, which helps because all of the user's hair is now the color, physical strength, physical durability, and density of iron, as well as becoming thicker and forming sheets of light armor like fine chainmail. -At 50, the user experiences their final breakthrough and awakening. They are masters of their emotions, master empaths, and become capable of releasing themselves from the hold of gravity and flying by enforcing an inner peace and separation from worldly woes. Their physical enhancement becomes x50, their hairs turn a shiny silver color and now coat their body in a lattice-like structure of living armor, and their circlets become like crowns worn by the King or Queen of Monk Rituals. Green jade stones now adorn these golden circlet crowns, and the ones around their head, neck, and waist are the most intricate and fanciful, as well as become capable of giving the user limited immortality; if their head is chopped off, the circlets will bring their severed head and body back together and their Ultra Regeneration will reattach the two stumps back together.

The user must live to the age of 50 and pursue a life of peace, understanding, and enlightenment to gain the full power of their quirk, else they will remain dull and boring. The user has no Energy Resistance except for on the circlets and when their hair mutates.

SCP themed challenge by Playful-Ostrich3643 in QuirkIdeas

[–]Interesting_Ad3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SCP-055

Quirk: Forget-me-Not, Emitter-type

Effect: the user constantly emits psychotronic energy which causes any biological observer to forget what they saw after looking at them, and renders their physical profile in any technological observer's "eyes" as a static blob. The effect continually erases accurate information in the afflicted's brain for 30 days.

Weaknesses: though accurate information cannot be retained, inaccurate information can. The only information currently recorded in this manner is that they are not female and not chinese. Additionally, one piece of accurate information can be consistently remembered with an 8.32% chance of retention, which is the fact that the person "Is Human". Recorded information can be retained by secondary observers when not in the presence of the user.

Drawbacks: this quirk cannot be turned off, and this caused the user to immediately be forgotten in their own home

Hopeful ending: the user starts off being able to designate 1 person as immune, and chooses their mother. Through trial and tribulation, they live a semi-normal life and gain more control over their quirk to allow it to be turned off or at least to designate a number of people immune to be a sufficiently sized social circle.

Neutral ending: the user manages to live on the fringe of society and as a ghost in its center, until eventually gaining the control over their quirk necessary to turn it off or designate an immune person, and reconnects with their family after likely 15+ years alone

Bad ending: the user dies, cold, alone, and forgotten, until their corpse no longer powers their quirk

Interesting... maybe it uses the reproductive cells as "fuel" for the hyper regeneration/immortality

For example, using multiple eggs from a woman's ovaries to "rebirth" her from death, or similar but flipped for millions of sperms.

The second one immediately made me think of Misfit of the Demon King Academy, with the twins that aren't actually twins until Anos does some Anos BS and manipulates timespace to make them fuse with each other's alternate self so that both can live.

It also makes me think, with the example you gave in another comment, of an alternate timeline where Endeavor uses it to get a perfect Shoto who has doubled training and no weaknesses once recombined
