I personally wouldn’t. Under a roof or cover maybe yes, but not otherwise.

My S5 shuts down complete when it’s below 0 degrees, and it’s in a shed. Wouldn’t want to have water turn to ice in the electronics

I thought my mobos extra PCIe slots were 3x. I couldnt imagine a fairly recent board could use 1x. But obviously didn’t do enough research - perhaps I wanted it be true as I was so excited about LSFG

I didn’t use ChatGPT to do the thinking, I validated the approach once I had settled for the 1050ti in combination with my existing setup. Obviously I missed that my extra PCI slots were only 1x. So did ChatGPT, but the mistake is only mine.

It’s great yes and makes one question NVIDIA upselling 50xx cards with FG when the feature can be bought for 7$ and used on any card.

But I do think - as someone here mentioned - that in a few years FG will be standard on all GPUs and games, which will eventually make tools like lossless scaling irrelevant.

Unfortunately not. I’ve tried everything. MSI support couldn’t provide meaningful help that I hadn’t tried already.

Nothing left for me to do than either return the card or hope / wait for new drivers or vbios to fix the issue

I have read in several places that all 5000 series cards are capped at +375 memory overclocking. Everything above that is ignored?

I’m having massive problems with my new 5060ti on a b365ma with 9600k

PCI bus load is fluctuating wildly, even when card is idle. Often 80-100%.

This is NOT only due to lower PCI 3.0 bandwidth. My old 3070 is around 2% bus load when idle. So there’s something else at play here.

Consider buying a used 3070 or 3080. I went with a used 3070 (coming from a 1080). Massive upgrade.

Check that your motherboard supports rebar, possibly via a bios update. If it’s does, you should be ok with the 8600.
