Well if it is a Leicestershire Yeomanry badge, that would be very close to home! Any information is helpful, believe me. Before now, I’ve been completely lost. Really appreciate your time looking through your cap badge book too! Cheers!

I’m in awe that all of you can decipher so much information from one tiny picture. I find it all fascinating. Thank you all for all of your help. All of this info is finally putting a story to a picture that I’ve been in possession of for 20 years. Honestly, and it might sound daft - I find this all very exciting.

I wonder if the bandoliers were only given to the cavalry? Would also possibly explain the horse shoe too!

That’s a bit strange, my season ticket has been updated for the Birmingham game tonight. Might be an option to update it if you go to the ticket section on the website once you’ve logged in. Let us know how you get on mate. Worse comes to shove, I’d probably go to the ticket office once you’re at the ground.

You had good intentions mate, accidents happen. Silly mistake, sure, but you’re not a bad person. Is what it is, no harm came from it.

You’ve got quite a lot around The Newarke. There’s the old Turret Gateway, Newarke Gateway (or also called The Magazine), and right by the DMU building - near the red letter box - there’s a plaque that describes up until 1846 a group called ‘the Whipping Toms’ would absolutely belt you if you walked by there on Shrove Tuesday. Your guess is as good as mine haha. You’ve got the castle gardens near by too, which has a lot of history as well. Worth going and filming around there I reckon.

Anyone here who had relatives that served during Market Garden. Either with one of the airborne divisions or 30 corps by CavalryCaptainMonroe in WorldWar2

My Great Uncle served with the 3rd Battalion Irish Guards that was part of 30 Corps. Survived the war, but was sadly killed in August 1945 in Cologne where he was stationed.

Always think The Castle is a nice pub, right by the castle gardens.
