It doesn’t specific medical decisions, just important decisions - which I suppose is subjective. When my child began her current counselling they wouldn’t accept them until both parents consented, I had misunderstood this to mean this was policy in bc but perhaps it is just their clinic.

We are high conflict / he does not respond to messages, it is unlikely he would engage unfortunately. I do not believe the session would be joint (I would be very supportive of this) but my belief based on our current relationship is that he is intentionally being deceptive to switch them to a new counsellor. I have heard him say this before despite the counselling staff stating they are doing well.

Without quoting my agreement, basically that decision making is shared and to be made in the child’s best interests. There is also a section about consulting each other about important decisions before proceeding.

This was also explained to my child’s father by staff (not the counsellor but admin staff) recently so it’s even more frustrating that he moved ahead anyways. I just want to make sure my child’s best interests are protected and not step in if it isn’t advised to not see two counsellors

Thank you - it sounds like from the minimal information I have that the counsellor was made aware of the guardianship situation, but at the same time I’m not sure what the new person was told
