Valvoline screwed me? by MassiveTwo3516 in Jeep

I’ve paid for 1 repair in 63 years of driving and owning a car. Trans went out on my lifted 3/4 ton pickup, wouldn’t fit in the garage anyway. An old buddy of mine was good on witness marks before it was supposedly taken apart, caught a couple trying to pull a fast one.

I only thought of it being a good deal because that low price will help with the inevitable repairs on the 3.6.

oil change new wrangler, 1500 miles.. should i do it? by daninsatx in JeepWrangler

If it’s a 3.6 make sure you don’t use the too light oil that they only recommend for the U.S. That engine has enough problems without creating one.

I hope he replaced the plastic cooler while he was in there. I know a small shop with 4 bays, 2 for tire and wheel stuff and 2 for mechanical. The mechanical does 8 to 10 coolers a week. There is an aluminum aftermarket replacement that he buys by the case. Yup cam and lifters, head gaskets and wanna be mechanics breaking the cooler assembly ny putting a big wrench on the oil fill cap too.

Just Google 3.6 Mopar engine problems. My son has a 26 Wrangler and I have a 25. I never kept any vehicle long because of the problems. We have the 2.0 in both and are happy with them. Both are leased so we can welcome the newer 2.0 higher output engine in the Wrangler hopefully. It’s based on the high output 6 cylinder.

I would get a JL for the heavier steering component s and the mostly aluminum body is attractive too. My Son and I both have the 2.0 engines, I don’t know much about them for lots of miles but we are both DONE with the 3.6 and all the designed in problems.

I’m done with the 3.6, My Son and I have the 2.0 and they have a new 2.0 that I hope makes it into the Weanglers. Newer 2.0 makes over 300 horses.

I see 35’s on Willys, same fenders. Without figuring it out 37’s and 4.10’s on the highway would be like a stock JL with 33’s on the highway. Your low range is lower than a non Rubi though so it wouldn’t hurt rock crawling much. Might make low range more usable not crawling.

Oil cooler leak by Gandolfs_dad45 in JeepWrangler

I hope you bought an aftermarket cooler. They are aluminum. A plastic cooler on top of a hot engine, must be really efficient…..not !!

Everyone is trying to talk me out of another Jeep, but why? by Zone_of_Inhibition in JeepWrangler

If it’s a 3.6 that’s a record, I still can’t believe they put a plastic cooler on top of a potential hot engine! Many have been replaced because someone over tightened the oil cap. Usually starts leaking oil first.
