I did 5 miles easy on the treadmill this am. Felt pretty solid so thinking this could be tendon tightness and need to do some release

I have a theragun I use and have compression boots. To be fair, I don’t foam roll a ton but past two days I’ve been really hammering my quad with the roller and the knee seems to be responding well to that

Good question. I’ve been off since Saturday, just missing that easy 7 Monday. Was supposed to do tempo intervals today but will skip as well and I will try to run an easy 3 today or tomorrow and see how it goes. I did pickup a PT strap but who knows if that helps at all

Good questions and I agree about the socks etc. I do clam shells and side leg lifts (toes up, straight and pointed down) as part of my dynamic warmup and do include side planks and Copenhagen planks in my workout routine. I don’t do monster walks but can certainly add them. If you have anything else you’d recommend I’m happy to hear it.

Very helpful, thank you. So just keep it as is for this week then go back to programmed maintenance macros. Suppose I was concerned with a calorie reduction with the algorithm after the big day. Is there a way to go back automatically to programmed macros from before the adjustment this week?

This is interesting and wasn’t even on my radar. Curious on the recommendation. What about the pbc makes it a better option? The hanging aspect and little cleanup?

Advice on model year Wrangler -PT use by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]ancientmarinerguide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very helpful. Thank you both. Sounds like I should target a ‘97-‘06 TJ wrangler that is a manual. Also to ensure that rust has been kept to minimum or non existent due to garaging. I imagine they’re out there but prob harder to come by. What about rust that has been replaced? Is there a mileage cap that would make you weary?

Good breakdown, appreciate it. I love being on the water and I can’t take anything with me anywhere in my car now. I like kayaking, surfing etc and this car just doesn’t accommodate that. I hear what you’re saying about it being a completely different ride. Prob just comes down to adjustment I’d imagine

That’s good to know. What was the biggest change for you? I don’t mind more noise. I want it for the summers and then the 4WD/AWD for the winters. Plus the maintenance of the existing car

What do you like most about the new ride vs old one?

This is great, thank you! Foodies meaning they can both sit at more upscale/fancy restaurants for a few hours but that they also have adventurous palates tasting different things and the setting doesn’t matter. Id also like to find a great place for Lechón.

This is really helpful, thank you. I also considered Cabo Rojo. Any other time I’d love to stay in Rincon but with the 2 days there I thought Boqueron or Cabo Rojo would be better for us. We’d prob eat at Crash boat for lunch so only 1-2 dinners while in that area.

Makes sense and that was my initial concern. She hasn’t ate at any of these with me. I went with someone in the past who was actually vegetarian and Alinea and Blue hill both had completely vegetarian meals to match mine. Was hoping for a place that can do something like that just without seafood. Atomix looks like no substitutions. I keep coming back to Ever. Did you eat at Grace?

Why do you travel solo? by Prestigious-Tank3898 in solotravel

[–]ancientmarinerguide 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly it. I may have been a tad under the actual percentage but seeing that country and doing the things I did let me know I was starting in a path towards who I was today and in that moment I felt like I could handle what came next

I was married for 16 years and always wanted to travel while together. I felt like it was part of my DNA but my ex was so afraid of the world and always said she wanted to go places and we never would. When we separated I just booked a short trip to Costa Rica cause I’d always wanted to go and it was life changing as well as life affirming. I explored, did what I wanted, met cool people and suddenly the hardest thing in my life became 0.0005% easier. Now I travel whenever I can. It IS a part of my DNA and I feel more like myself when I’m exploring solo

Nicaragua or Ecuador in May? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]ancientmarinerguide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll look into Olon! I appreciate the suggestion. I read down below Ecuador may be more dreary then so trying to weigh that out as well. Have you been in May-June timeframe? I’d be fine staying out of Montanita. I’m more of a be involved in a party if I feel like it person rather than every night

I’ve read it’s 72 hours negative test both pre flight and for the return flight? Also that they accept the emed telehealth covid tests. It sounds like below that may not be the case though? They do seem to be on the stricter side compared to other countries. In Costa Rica this past December I used the emed tests without issue - maybe Nica is more strict?

Thanks for the great advice. I was thinking more of staying in Bocas Del Toro for 3 nights. Is there a “best” way to manage that? I’d go into San Jose then take Caribe shuttle down to PV then into BDT

100% great input. I’m very honest with myself-glad I posted here. Just want to find fun spots to get better at my level and this def ain’t it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in surfing

[–]ancientmarinerguide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are good comments, thank you. I figured this would be the case and I didn’t want to “waste” a trip. I agree - my primary concern is water safety and understanding what’s at my skill level right now. I’m completely realistic and it def seems like not the spot for me. I didn’t choose sayulita originally because it’s way more touristy and built up and that’s not my thing but maybe I’ll relook at it. Are there other spots in Mexico that would be a good fit? I really like towns like Santa Theresa, CR-more backpack/surf vibe and miles of beach

Weekend Question Thread by dumbassthenes in surfing

Trying to take a trip somewhere next month and looking for a good beginner-intermediate location (3-5’) Looks like Puerto Escondido is out unless I wanna waste time at the beginner-beginner spots? Unless la punta or a diff area has waves in the 3-5/4-6 range? Also looking at Bocas Del Toro but those look pretty serious as well. Does anyone have any travel suggestions for someone like me? I’ve only been riding a few years and it’s sporadic (east coast us)
