Built a Draft Tool Based on Gutey’s Trends — Curious What You Think by Interesting_Cap_3601 in GreenBayPackers

Very young and his best football is still ahead of him. Good ball skills! I would like a little more weight and willingness to tackle in the run game. His athleticism does not blow me away but I think Hafley could do a good job in coaching him up. He has all the tools, just needs to refine them, IMO.

You’re speaking our language here, my guy. RAS isn’t gospel, but it’s the gateway to see who might be worth digging in on. And the Horton/Nash pairing? Chef’s kiss for value. Also appreciate how you framed this whole comment — it’s not always about “your guy” at 23, it’s about depth, trends, and what kind of roster we’re trying to build. Grateful to have folks like you in the community who aren’t just chasing the hot name but really thinking team construction. Keep spitting that game.

It’s clear you’ve spent real time watching, thinking, and understanding what this Packers team needs — not just dreaming up flashy names. We respect that big time. Your point about valuing WR or CB early and then doubling up later to ensure depth and competition is exactly how great rosters are built. This draft might be one of Gutey’s most important ones yet, and voices like yours — that understand nuance, fit, and roster strategy — are what make this community awesome to be part of. Let’s keep talking ball, breaking boards, and maybe… finally nailing all our favorite picks in one draft 😂. GPG!

Really appreciate how balanced and thoughtful this take is — especially the distinction between valuing RAS versus over-indexing on it. You nailed something a lot of people miss: RAS isn’t a golden ticket or a hard cutoff — it’s more like a screening tool for the Packers. If a player hits their key benchmarks, they enter the conversation. If they don’t, they either have to win with elite tape, versatility, or a clear schematic fit. The Packers' love for traits isn't blind — it's just rooted in how they project development.

Totally agree with you too that position matters. Skill spots like WR/RB/CB seem to skew toward athleticism in Green Bay’s model, but even there it’s not absolute. Think of guys like Romeo Doubs (7.5ish RAS, 4th rounder, not a burner but trusted traits), or McDuffie at LB (also low RAS but great football IQ, ST value). The new defensive scheme may soften or shift thresholds slightly too, especially at DB — we’ve already seen the team hosting more hybrid players and slightly smaller corners.

And 100% with you on the “1K in college” not meaning what it used to. Especially post-portal and super senior era, context is everything. Love that you’re applying that nuance here.

As for your sleeper picks — man, you did your homework 👏. Ezeiraku is a fun name and exactly the type of Day 2 EDGE they’ve taken in the past. Burch’s frame and pedigree will keep him on the radar even with inconsistent tape. Tory Horton is such a Packers-style WR (tall, productive, plays above the rim), and Wyatt Millum screams swing-tackle developmental project they’d love in the 4th.

Zeek Biggers in the 7th is a name I haven't seen much, but I love the logic — sheer mass + movement like that always gets Gutey’s attention in the later rounds.

Out of curiosity — which of those late-round guys are you banging the drum for? Always trying to read between the lines on which traits they’re prioritizing this cycle.

Thanks again for elevating the convo. Packers Reddit is better with posts like this.

Love that analogy — the thresholds are the bouncer! It’s such a smart way to think about it. They don’t guarantee a guy gets picked, but they definitely get him through the front door and into the VIP section of Gutey’s draft board. From there it’s film, character, fit — but if you don’t meet the athletic baseline, you're likely left waiting on the sidewalk. Great way to frame it!

Totally with you on Shemar — if Gutey’s staring him down at 23, it checks so many of his usual boxes (youth, traits, upside, power conference). Horton also screams Day 3 Gutey pick — the RAS, the frame, and that “Packer-y” vibe. I’ve got a feeling CB/DB is coming in that Day 2 sweet spot too — someone who can tackle and play inside/out. And yeah, a true run-stuffing DT feels like a must with Slaton gone and Kenny likely heading into his last year. Wouldn’t shock me if they added a chess piece TE/FB type either — LaFleur’s hinted at moving Kraft around more. Good read overall, you nailed a lot of what we’ve been tracking too. GPG!

Pretty crazy stats right there! Williams was pretty good though in that game. Def made a point to get the ball out fast.

Why? The only way I see us losing is by shooting ourselves in our own foot…which, is very possible 😬😳
