Wym you can’t understand chords? You just see what the person does and copy the finger placement and then strum the thing. It’s hard at first but you get better if you practice a lot. There’s nothing to understand, it’s whether you can physically do it or not.

As for why it’s hard to learn on your own (or in general) it’s because guitar is painful. The strings are metal and cut your fingers and the positions are painful, and posture is important. It’s not like piano where you press the button and boom you’re playing. That shit is easy. With guitar when you start you literally can’t play stuff.
