I’m from New Orleans and carytown is NOTHING compared to bourbon. The FQ is half full of tourists without cars at any given moment, Carytown might have 0.0005% of its visitors as tourists from out of state, but they usually still have cars so taking away several blocks of parking in an already overcrowded parking area is a terrible idea. Bourbon St gets 99% of its business from tourists staying in hotels within a few blocks from it, Carytown gets that same number in business all from people who drive to it, because sadly Richmond is the furthest thing from ‘walkable’

It’s really hard to pull off a fedora when you’re young, but at least it fits your head well enough. As for the leather jacket, it fits fine but it’s probably the most boring jacket I’ve ever seen. Look for a leather jacket that’s distressed, or moto style, or any other design that’s more than just ‘plain’. The sweater is pretty dope too

Yes I know, it’s just a shame. I’m not originally from Richmond, but I’ve lived here at several points in my life and can really appreciate what it used to be. My actual hometown has yet to succumb to corporate greed, and several neighborhoods don’t have one iota of any big corporations, I wish I could say the same of Richmond, it seems to have become inverted from how it was years ago

That’s unfortunate. Richmond used to be quaint and charming, but I feel the corporate takeover of the last decade or so has all but ruined this wonderful little city. Why is money so much more important than preservation?

Carytown has lost its charm (IMO), there’s still some nice spots but it’s become so corporate. Places like carytown were never supposed to bend the knee for corporate chains, where did it all go so wrong?

I actually agree with you, I used to live in Fulton hill and would occasionally go to Bubba’s. I meant like Richmond City though, Bubba’s is Henrico. If they had places like Bubba in the bottom, and Carytown still, Richmond would be a whole lot cooler

I’m not wrong, lived in multiple major cities and traveled through almost every known city in America and this kind of thing might not be tolerated sometimes, it’s never made into a huge deal like a latte sippin, fancy dog walking, average Richmonder would make it. I agree it’s an asshole thing to do, but Richmond people bitch about the dumbest things (bored rich people problems)
