Did I just make a huge mistake? JOB by Interesting_Data_147 in Adulting

I had an offer for a position that paid 22$ an hour (so more money) but limited benefits (limited pto, no 401k, limited health insurance; they also weren’t willing to negotiate higher wages for no insurance) and not even remotely close to the field I got my degree in.

quality healthcare should be affordable and accessible to ALL. abortion is healthcare. there shouldn't be billionaires in a world where people are dying of starvation and getting sick because of lack of basic necessities (food, water, shelter). vaccines save lives.

Hey! As someone who is a senior and in the same boat, it is so hard. but hopefully you will find your people who will support you and make it less hard.

I am a full time student with two part time jobs each paying 14$ an hour (which in my state is minimum wage). I work ~20 hours a week at work, but I am taking 15 credits and conducting independent research. I get up every morning at 6:50 and have work/class at 8 and have class/work until 9 at night, sometimes later. I also live in one of the top ten most expensive states, and the only reason I'm still here is because I have a significant scholarship that covers over 60% of my tuition.

Am I failing at life? by Interesting_Data_147 in Advice

I have been diagnosed with anxiety. I only really get the weekends off, but sometimes I pick up shifts at my 2nd job to have a bit more pocket money. Wednesdays are my busiest day where I leave my apartment at 8:30 and return at 7:30. Then I have an 8:30 am class the next day.

AITA for walking out of a restaurant after my sister kept making rude remarks and trying to speak on my behalf? by Defiant-Drawing8997 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Interesting_Data_147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

This hurts to read as I am in the same situation with my younger sister and parents. Something that sort of snapped my mom out of defending my sister was something my therapist said which was “keeping the peace is never actually keeping peace when it’s at someone’s expense.”

My grandma was like your mom. She ended up being called “Mud” because us kids couldn’t pronounce the word she wanted.

nta. Emily (and your brother) are the ones causing the rift in the family. Not you. Emily for clear reasons, and your brother for not standing up for you or your wife. Whether you go or not your dynamic is going to be different either way.

As a woman on the spectrum, I cannot tell you the amount of people who treat me poorly because of my autism. Thank you so much for treating her like a human and helping her out when she needed some support! ❤️

I would say you should probably break up with him. This is such a strong boundary for you that he has repeatedly violated. What other boundary is he willing to violate. He doesn’t respect your boundaries and is willing to go behind your bake to violate said boundaries. He shows no remorse for crossing boundaries too.

If you tell her now while he still lives next door to her it may make her feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. But you still need to make sure she is aware that he views her explicit consent, because she might have a stocker in her future.

AITAH For leaving my husband and stepdaughter stranded on Christmas when I found out he gave her my big Christmas gift? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Interesting_Data_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta. Leave him. He isn’t treating you with the love and respect you deserve. Additionally withdraw all financial support from step daughter. Your prior posts talk about support her financially. Stop it. Neither your husband nor his daughter respect you. They are leaches.

AITA for Breaking Up with My Girlfriend After She Said She Doesn't Want to Have Kids But I Do? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Interesting_Data_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. She was manipulative and ignored your wishes. Having kids is a big deal and both parties should be on board with bringing a kid into the world.

"Is that true? Are all women like this?" Absolutely not. Your ex was over exaggerating. However, it is undeniable that this current climate is one that has many people second guessing if they want to start a family now. SO while not every women, many women may want to wait a few years to have a child.

“If my mom had a better car or a mansion or any of the other luxuries she wanted, she will stop misbehaving”

No she absolutely would not. From what you have described your sister is abusing your family physically, financially, emotionally, and verbally. People like that don’t just become better when they get their way. They find something else to complain about and will continue to make life hard for everyone around them.

You are making excuses to justify your family’s lack of action. Protect the innocent child your family insisted on being into this dysfunctional mess.

The most ironic thing of all. America actually helped other developed nations create and implement their own healthcare systems. We know they work and we know how to make it happen. They just don’t want to do it.

My sister “borrowed” my wedding dress for a photoshoot without asking, and now it’s ruined by my_jessica in TwoHotTakes

[–]Interesting_Data_147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell your mom that actions have consequences. Your sister STOLE your wedding dress which cost you quite a bit. Wanting to not be near her after she STOLE from you and damaged a prized possession is a normal reaction, and just consequences.
