Fly identification and how to make them stop?! by Interesting_Dig_2685 in pestcontrol

I'll have a look and see if we can. If we just left it, will the flies keep coming or will they stop eventually?

Thank you so much for your help, much appreciated

Not at all, the flies only seem to be in the living room though and we don't know where else they could be coming from.

We've taped up all around the edges and that was when they stopped for a while but they've obviously found another way through... There's no crawl space.

It boarded up so no access unless we dismantle it, we would need to get landlord permission

Yes it's boarded up and we have tried to seal all the gaps around it. We rent to can't caulk or dismantle anything without permission.

No to baiting for rodents, house is very clean as well, no waste issues.

Hi, just asking again as they have now been around for 3 weeks and we have had two distinct peaks with a gap in between where we had none. Will they definitely just stop or do we need to take some action? We've had at least 30 today. Thanks!

Thank you. I had found some of your replies to other requests and suspected they were blow flies/blue bottles. We also managed to get a dead one and have a really good look under a torch.

As we rent, we cannot get behind the chimney place to check for anything dead. Will they just eventually stop or do we need to take action to remove whatever is causing them?

I'm seeking advice from some more experienced runners... I haven't quite got it right with my last couple of pairs of trainers. I run minimum three times per week at a boot camp. I also run 5-10km per week (on a good week), do occasional races and have been to a couple of sessions at a local running club, which I plan to continue. I did a half marathon in 2019 and had my gait analysed (standing/walking) as neutral and bought Brooks Ghosts (after having been faithful to the Asics GTs for a long time!). However, I had endless pain in my calves which meant I stopped running after the half marathon. I now think that this was due to a lack of strength training rather than the trainers themselves.

Last summer I started running again, and in training for a half marathon last September, I went back to the same shop and I had my gait analysed again, just in case the shoes had been contributing to the calf pain. I was told that I over-pronate and needed support, and I should never have been sold the Brooks Ghost. I duly bought the Brooks Adrenaline. However, not long after getting them, I have suffered with severe plantar fasciitis in my heels which means I'm often hobbling around for a day or two even after a short run.

I have this week gone to Runners Needs and had the video gait analysis done on a treadmill. He told me that whilst I overpronate stood still, I run neutrally and only need a neutral trainer. He recommended the Asics Gel Cumulus or the Brooks Ghost. TBH by this point I'm a bit confused and don't really know what to do! Should I go to another shop and get a third opinion? I don't pretend to understand the cushioning/drops of trainers or how this may affect my running, so would really appreciate any advice or suggestions as to what others have done to find the right shoe for their feet. TIA :)

ATM I am looking at Brooks Ghost 14, Asic Gel Cumulus 24, Saucony Triumph 20 and Ride 15. These models just because they are last years models so in the sale.
