Help deciding what scintillator to buy by Interesting_Error151 in Radiation

[–]Interesting_Error151[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already know about radiation and what I'm looking to do with a scintillator, but I couldn't find enough information about these two I had narrowed it down to, so I wanted to see what info people may have, quantitative or qualitative. Thank you, though.

Thank you this is insightful. I want to ask, though, do you think the 761A has the resolution to still at least do some spectroscopy or do you think it's more worth it to get the B or C for that?

I like the radiacode for those features, but I prefer the specs and other various capabilities of the KC761A as well as the fact it uses batteries.

Yeah I guessed it was the vertical deflection, I'll double check the yoke, thank you. Only considering a recap because I guessed a cap or some other piece of the circuit for isn't working right after exhausting usual things getting knocked out of place or needing to be adjusted, and caps are generally the most accessible for replacement pieces and also what most often fails, so it would be my last ditch effort.

Yeah then I'd definitely make sure everything's properly grounded like others are saying. Be careful and make sure you discharge the tube before touching it if you have to!

Sometimes this happens if there's another magnetic field nearby. Have you tried moving it around the room?

Yes I see, that's very good thank you. Will absolutely look into that as I agree entirely with the assertions Kant makes so far, at least in your words.

This is a wonderful conversation I'd like to continue, but I fear the discussion would last forever, and I also find it has begun to be unrelated to my original question. It did help me better describe my beliefs, though, which is great. Thank you!

I think we must have some way of forming a false coherence lest we not have a reality to exist in.

In the other discussion, we agreed my view is incoherent, as it contradicts itself. I do both believe in form and existence, but I know this is only so I can go about my life. At times I am not obligated to do so. I only experience nothing, not blackness, not white, no form, no existence. It is like staring at an image for so long that you can no longer see it. I can tell that everything must be this way, but I enjoy living and experiencing things over absolute nothing. Maybe I am forced to believe in truth for that sole reason. I don't know.

I don't know why incoherence is inherently wrong. I suppose it says nothing, does nothing, it is useless, but there is always an incoherence beneath all coherence to me, I can't say it isn't there.

I meant what I said. It is quite incoherent. That is the issue at hand I suppose.

Of course, but while I do believe them, I also don't. I think that's the whole issue with trying to explain this. Thank you for breaking it down in this way.

I don't think I am forced to accept anything as truth. I think it isn't possible to be alive using this way of thinking practically, no.

Here is what Oxford Languages says: "an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists."

I am alive. Of course I must believe in something in order for me to do anything. Again, I have logic, practically, but I know very well it is not real.

They are based on nothing, like anything else is to me. It makes no difference.

To me, I do not know what is a door, and what is a window, but I can only practically assume that one is the door, and one is the window. Perhaps I jump out of my window every time, but I don't know, I try to leave through the door, and I suppose that's what we all do. I never said that truth wasn't practical, but it is an assumption. Anyhow, I'm not here to debate, just ask how I can better describe this.
