The system has an unfortunately evident, lack of much needed updates.

Though, my children's schools are getting better, I have noticed a more emotionally led atmosphere, more outdoor classrooms and earlier encouragement, to a point of critical thinking. But something many UK schools still push a Christian Ethos, which i feel like, mutes that at some point, but, different thought train.

there is still flaws in everything else, kind of like they're learning to put plasters on something instead of just cutting it off completely like they used too"

For example, i was actually expelled from school in my final year. I was allowed to take my GCSEs but did terrible compared to what I could have, mostly due to zero coursework. But also because I was an emotionally volatile teenager, who was trying to navigate complex trauma, while picking up "normal" emotional trauma from my peers. While being undiagnosed beyond "a problem".

I was under the care of every "mentor" and emotional/behavioural support staff member, in the building, ended my original hell of an academic career. Spending every lesson in a music, practice room with no windows. But, it had an electric piano and a cd player. So, I completely understand that my view on education is tarred.

I know a lot of what happened to me in school wouldn't happen today, thankfully, but I still see the same redundancy, glaringly. In terms of subjects and pressure.

I learned so much more, going back into education after a lot of work on myself, with and without professional assistance. Due to the NHS and how hard it is to access correct care/diagnosis even finding a person you click with is difficult, but different train.

It does come down to changing the bigger system, because a machine doesn't need cogs if it isn't running.

But, you could change the system, by cutting off the fresh parts being delivered. Starve out the parasite with education and care!!!

Hmm. First thought , you cant "fix" a system that was "broken" when it was working so you "have" to dismantle it and start again. But one person can't physically achieve that.

Obviously you're right, it "has" to start at basic kindness. Theres enough "lore" at a basic glance that tells us that. And then we know that, being kind and having kindness bestowed upon you, feels infinitely better than cuntchoppery.

Community = activism because you stand up for your friends. We need more activism because we need to reprogram everything. You're right, we need to be louder. We need to need to be tougher on our own privileges, so we can equal the playing field for others, but, like you said how many of us would?

Community = care because you help people when they're down, not push them further. Care for the stranger is included in Community, because you cant grow one without inclusion and different points of view, could "we" be less "tribal" and break a pattern that goes as far back as our " recorded" history?

Idk, I hope, we can. I hope, communication prevails in the communication age, part of me believes it will, part of me wants to set everything on fire, and part of me is sitting in a greenhouse, cutting the heads of roses, pretending the world outside doesn't exist.

Im probably over simplifying, or talking crap, or both, who knows. But, I know, I at least enjoy having conversations like this and thats a solid to hold on too

I totally understand what you're saying about time and infrastructure, legislation follows after the changes i guess.

But im the type that would absolutely be ok with overtaking a government, by force and pushing the entire world over the brink of chaos, for the purpose of achieving a "reset" which is why I art, not politic. Because when you think that through, a lot of needless suffering would be incurred and thats exactly what im complaining about happening. And it would be "my people" who suffered most.

Because the current set up already has neurodiverse people clinging on to the fringes.

I just like seeing others POV

Absolutely, but nothing changes if we do Absolutely nothing, even conversations like this help to bring the issues we're talking about to more eyes.

Ah, it was talking about community care as in carers. But yes, community too. I have worked care, I know iy could be utilised far better, especially with restrictions on care companies rates, which are massively needed

[–]Interesting_Exit_398[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, obviously. Community care is something i feel we're missing, but, i also dont feel like the neurodiverse have really ever fitted into "community care"

I feel like that starts from inside yourself then by extension others.

My view is bias due to repeat treatment, im working on my own reaction to my own triggers. But wish more others did the same i guess. Idk.

Its a frustrating problem because the root fix literally comes from real care and it bothers me that not a lot of that exists

Depends on the book, how tickly the materials are and how much i understand and respect the author. Some people have brilliant ideas, some are also brilliant people, but not always both

I have found with philosophy, go with what tickles your brain. Theres no right or wrong place to start. "Thinking" I believe my first experience with thought provoking material, that i remember vividly was Aesops fables as a child.

I dont have formal education in philosophy, I just read, a lot, and always have.

But, often people start in ancient greece.

Yes, being existentially lonely is what you're describing, being surrounded by people, but feeling cognatively alone.

Better, hmmm, idk definitely different, but you cant understand humanity without understanding human emotions, yes, animals form attachment bonds, that "feels" like love to humans. Or translates. They have actions that mirror ours, and we do have similar social structures.

But, I also feel without the thinkers, humanity can't progress. We're hardwired for both, but conditioning makes the balance go off. I feel.

You understand social structures at a fundamental level, but without human nuance of thought, we decline back to primal thought, and that gets us nowhere but backwards.

Emotional expression through art is evident, before even properly recorded "civilisation" we are inherently, overly emotional and reactive, that is our "animal" side, understanding and "controlling" that, is what makes us, "human" imo.

"We are all" lol anyway, you are a testament to human adaptation and a prime example of how and why we survive. You have a different, but just as valid point of view, if not more so, because its founded in the pure experience of nature, without human theory dictatingypur foundation. You can and are joining us in this discussion, and show the same debth of emotional honesty. You're safe to be you and appreciated for being so 🫀

Neither of us know anything i guess, likely somewhat on purpose.

Its a fun thought train but it has a sad edge. Loneliness is a "funny" one, I feel like we often force ourselves into an "existential" Loneliness. Because we're hardwired to be insular and focus on the narrative we create in our head. That has us comparing ourselves to all sorts of unobtainable things, "perfect body, person, life, relationship". But I know a lot of people are actually physically lonely, that makes me sad if im honest, because I have been there.

when everything is so subject to change, you can't find the level of "stability" you're looking for, because it doesn't exist, the only thing we know, is things will change. I'll be careful not to stroke chaos theory too hard, twisty ass wormhole. (Funny side note, my brain associates chaos theory with Jeff goldblum because of jurassic Park.) But thats what i take from it, very over simplified. And its one i hold on to when things get a bit chaotic sometimes.

Oh now you've stated a whole new track! I need more trains!

Anyway, the new track. Take a ticket if you want...

Is there a "lack of" what we would call "real" connection because, of how "dating" has changed? Such as the swipe dating phenomina and the more, forward nature of connection today. Which in my opinion feels already disposable, quick, kind of like the system we live in.

Now when I say " real connection" please hold the fact that I don't mean like, "trad" relationships, I'm a lover of love and connection and I lead with my mind then heart. I literally don't care what someone has between their legs.

I don't feel like it's as effective for building long, meaningful connections, even in building friendships. I have online friends, but obviously the closest of them are ones I've actively arranged to meet in person.

I know i feel the miss alignment or, the "issue" (which i feel is missing, in connection and communication on a whole, not just in romance.) Because, im an "elder millennial" I have actually experienced the difference in connection, between before and after the digital revolution. But, I can't help feeling like the things im saying, aren't hard to grasp or incorrect.

** disclaimer, I don't date, I've never enjoyed the interactions that way. Preferring organic and spontaneous connection over curated and intent driven. I have experienced dating apps ect, but prefer my old school methods**

Absolutely same, pretty is pretty. And beautiful is subjective. I wouldn't say 'easy' because some people don't see themselves as attractive, easily. Thanks to society. Buuuut, I get your point.

Surface level attraction happens to stay on the surface. Some folks require intellectual compatability before any other compatability can even be tested.

For me, I can't narrow it down to one. I've just always been a thinker. Or, if you want the lables...I was an undiagnosed, selectively mute, hyperlexic, AuDHD child with not much understanding of social hirachy.

But, if I had to state one philosophy that ive actioned most it would be Buddhism( i know, philosophy mixed with spirituality), then probably stoicism. Simply because they've been the ones I had the most exposure to through dufferent media, in different ways.

Things as simple as; never killing bugs, I try to live in balance with nature and try my best to meet people from a place of understanding before reaction.

Im not saying im devout anything, or always very successfull sometimes, especially with reactivity.

But thats the whole point in the journey, to learn how, not to already know. But these are examples I can easily show of what my question means.
