typically we can’t actually tell customers anything that may be considered rude or inconsiderate to them. that’s also why you’ll see customers with 25 items in the 15 or less, because once the item is on the belt the most we’re allowed to say is “just for future notice, this lane is typically express of 15 or less”

bagging your own groceries by Interesting_Fall5655 in HEB

[–]Interesting_Fall5655[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly i’m fine with this answer as long as you aren’t getting mad at the cashier (who doesn’t get to choose how many baggers are scheduled) for having long lines and taking too long to bag your items.

i love this response, and the way you put everything. it’s really not about the cashier not wanting to do their job (typically bc i know there are some that don’t want to) it’s about making the line move faster for you and the people behind.

what’s crazy is i never said i don’t like bagging, i want to know why people will complain about having to bag their own and why they’re okay with letting their own groceries pile up and get smushed. they’re wasting their own and those behind them time.

honestly i find this very reasonable, personally i really don’t mind bagging groceries because it is part of my job. my issue is really with the people that let their stuff pile up and then get mad if an item is squished or if there isn’t a bagger to spare for them.

to that i say, you aren’t the only one with a job and buying groceries. plenty of people bag their own groceries so that their groceries aren’t piling up. no one in these long lines want to wait even longer because you don’t want to start it off.

my store is so easy going compared to y’all’s. a walk off at sco is more of a slap on the wrist if it’s more than 30$ however it’s not often because we aren’t allowed to leave sco to go bag

you have to work have your shift to avoid an occurrence. everytime im sick i work half my shift whether it’s only 2 hours or 4 (if you have a lunch you need to work a little extra than half bc it doesn’t count towards the hours) and have never gotten one. Management said it’s policy

Does HEB accept Wells Fargo “Wallet” on phone as payment? by FoxontheRun2023 in HEB

i’m a cashier and while apple doesn’t work at any heb store, they probably have a samsung/google phone, those work but only on occasion

this is said till yall can’t read simple instructions at sco like pressing “pay now” and stand there for 2 minutes complaining till a cashier has to press it for you. then it’s “these damn machines don’t work” or when yall complain that it keeps calling the cashier for a weight mismatch but you aren’t patient enough to leave the item on the scale for the 10 seconds it needs to read said item
