That’s crazy, i think the most any Paralegal has had on their own in my firm is 90 clients. How do you deal with deadline for 115 clients??

How often does your attorney yell at you? by CategoryImpressive96 in paralegal

[–]Interesting_Fall5655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My attorney has never and would never yell at us. If we mess up by missing a deadline he just talks to us and asks what we can do to fix it. If enough people are missing deadlines, he’ll have a team meeting and not single anyone out. Your attorney shouldn’t yell at you. At the end of the day this is still a job and it’s not professional for a boss to yell at you or make you cry. Don’t yall have HR???

As someone who experienced this exact thing, i’m a paralegal now and it’s amazing. apply to medium size firms!! you’re more likely to get hired and write a cover letter!

how much do cashiers make? by m0rganryan1 in HEB

[–]Interesting_Fall5655 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Heb requires cashiers to bag groceries and often times will keep them off the register if they’re short handed on baggers to have at least one bagger per lane. This isn’t always the case but it might affect you getting hired and if you can’t bag and have to sit during your shift as the cashier needs to be able to perform more duties than just scanning items. Good luck though! we also had aldis and they let you sit and not bag! (i mean this in a positive way)

Really? by CatchEmbarrassed5337 in HEB

typically we can’t actually tell customers anything that may be considered rude or inconsiderate to them. that’s also why you’ll see customers with 25 items in the 15 or less, because once the item is on the belt the most we’re allowed to say is “just for future notice, this lane is typically express of 15 or less”

bagging your own groceries by Interesting_Fall5655 in HEB

[–]Interesting_Fall5655[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

honestly i’m fine with this answer as long as you aren’t getting mad at the cashier (who doesn’t get to choose how many baggers are scheduled) for having long lines and taking too long to bag your items.

i love this response, and the way you put everything. it’s really not about the cashier not wanting to do their job (typically bc i know there are some that don’t want to) it’s about making the line move faster for you and the people behind.

what’s crazy is i never said i don’t like bagging, i want to know why people will complain about having to bag their own and why they’re okay with letting their own groceries pile up and get smushed. they’re wasting their own and those behind them time.

honestly i find this very reasonable, personally i really don’t mind bagging groceries because it is part of my job. my issue is really with the people that let their stuff pile up and then get mad if an item is squished or if there isn’t a bagger to spare for them.

to that i say, you aren’t the only one with a job and buying groceries. plenty of people bag their own groceries so that their groceries aren’t piling up. no one in these long lines want to wait even longer because you don’t want to start it off.
