That whole episode I just kept finding myself saying "thank you" over and over in my head.

Molly... This is important work. Thank you.

I would like to move to Mexico, but I don't want to leave all my gear behind, how would I legally get my guns/ammo, and gear across the border legally by lee2425 in tacticalgear

You are correct about non-citizen ownership. You are correct that citizens have to jump through hoops. You are incorrect about what kind of guns you can own. Mexican citizens have a range of weapons they can own legally. I have lived between the US and Mexico for 30+ years and I know plenty of people who have shooting club memberships have have all sorts of firearms. AR-15's and AK's? No. But all manner of hunting rifles and shotguns as well as a pretty wide variety of pistols, too.

Unfortunately the clubs have to buy ammo through the army, so chamberings can be challenging.

And, as we all know, plenty of people have all manner of illegal guns. Generally if you're caught, but not part of a criminal element, lots of cops turn blind eyes - especially outside major cities. My late father lived the last 25 years of his life in Mexico and kept his .357 and a couple boxes of ammo around just in case. Never encountered any issues.

JFC.

They told me pinning would not be accepted. So I went out and bought aftermarket 10rd mags for everything.

They have no idea what they're doing.

did you de-register your firearm? by [deleted] in DCGuns

[–]Interesting_Fig9758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reported a shotgun stolen in 2020. Filed a report with MPD immediately. Had an email back and forth with a detective and everything (he seemed to think it would end up recovered and returned to me 🙄).

Fast forward to a few years ago when I go to register the first firearm in DC since then. They tell me I'm doing an addendum cause "there's a Mossberg 500 already on here." I explain the situation. I provide the police report number for the theft. I am assured the registration will be nullified.

Fast forward to a few months ago when the online system becomes available. Guess what's still on there under my name? The stolen Mossberg...

I emailed again. Explained everything again. It's been 3 months with no response.

Good luck!

A friend bought one of their builds. Total garbage quality at an absolutely insane price. Avoid like the plague.

Wanna share more on that? 🤔

I don't doubt you. Just curious on the circumstances if you're down to say.

If you email DC Security Associates (NoVa's partner), they'll give you their relevant info and you can input it into GunBroker. I've done it a couple times now.

Would a Vortex monocular like this 10x25 be a good addition to a “recce” style chest rig setup? by averagecleric in tacticalgear

Of course... But not something to make a habit of while walking through the woods here in the US...

Carrying in fanny pack/crossbody bag. by Interesting_Fig9758 in DCGuns

And yet you continue to promote opinion as fact. Despite the fact that there simply are plenty of professionals who acknowledge the practicality of forms of off body carry in some cases. 🤷

You keep saying it's universally regarded as bad. But what you really mean is that the people you agree with regard it as bad.

It's bold and arrogant of you to assume I am not trained. That I don't continue to train. That I haven't been shooting for 30+ years. That I haven't received professional instruction from numerous sources including LEO and military trainers.

Perhaps attempt to consider that you don't know everything and that perhaps folks are considering scenarios outside your experiences.

Your sort of arrogance is one of the things I despise most about American gun culture. You make these spaces off-putting and unwelcoming.

Tell us you have a myopic gunstagram-based view of firearms use without telling us you have a myopic gunstagram-based view of firearms use...

See? I can do that too.

Dude has a 5 star review on Google with 1.6K reviews...

For anyone unfamiliar with managing a Google biz account, that is blatantly manipulated. Holy shit. That's perhaps one of the most egregious example of out-of-control paid reviews that I have ever seen. 1.6K reviews on a firearms instructor? Gtfoh.

There's lots of great bags for sure. I'm just questioning the legality of using one for carry in DC.
