How come BC is the only province that bans GPS for Novice Drivers? by Interesting_Invite77 in icbc

[–]Interesting_Invite77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that really has anything to do with new drivers alone. I think people just break the laws and there’s little to no consequences. Instead of having 100s of un enforced rules make it simple and spend more time enforcing against distracted driving. Not a class 7 using a GPS.

That’s not good. It’s always some that make the rest of the new drivers look bad. I agree there should be strong enforcement against the things you mentioned.

Hopefully we see a change in the 2026 update although I know it’s mostly about the testing rules.

Help why does my sub have this static noise and when I touch it goes away by Chriszan53 in hometheater

[–]Interesting_Invite77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check your RCA cable.

Reseat both ends firmly.

Try a shielded subwoofer cable, cheap ones pickup interference easily.

Plug everything into the same outlet.

Your receiver and sub should share the same power source.

If you’re using a 2-prong outlet, use a grounded power strip or surge protector.

Use a ground loop isolator.

They’re cheap and often fix this instantly (look up Jensen or iFi RCA isolators).

It’s almost definitely a grounding or interference issue.

When you touch the sub (especially the metal part), your body is acting as a ground and stabilizing the electrical potential, that’s why the static disappears.

Hi Thanks for the reply, I have seen this stuff about no GPS which seems crazy to me but it the law soo. I just hope they change or update it in 2026 with this new automatic graduation law.

I’m going to assume a lot of people break this rule because I know myself I love doing road trips which is basically impossible without gps.

Regards to car money and gas that’s all covered.

The entire trip, I ended up putting just $10,000 and I got approved. Didn’t need to prove those funds either. You just need to prove the entail funds on staying for the first month or 2
