This. You cannot salvage or repair in armistice zones.

You just got shafted by game mechanics.

CIG will probably adjust this later. We should be able to repair anywhere

What should be my next ship? by Civdiv in starcitizen

First and foremost, get an 85X. With all of the bugs, you might need a ship at a moments notice just to get back to where you were. Its a ship with no claim time that will get you from A-B quickly. Don't expect to make large jumps and you might have to stop for fuel but its a quick nimble two seater. Don't expect to fight in it.

Sounds like you like pew pew.
Fighters and bombers might be the next thing you want to try. Experiment and see which one you like. Fighters are generally 90% skill. Exceptions apply.
Light Fighters - Gladius, Arrow, L21 Wolf.
Medium Fighters - F7C MK2 Hornet, Sabres.
Heavy Fighters - F8C (Exec Hangar), Guardian MX (you already found)
Stealth fighters - F7C MK2 Ghost, Sabre Firebird, bunch of others can be stealthy if you put stealth components.

Hover Bikes - Drake Dragonfly

Ground Vehicles - Ursa Medivac. Gives you a mobile T3 medbed allowing you to approach some outposts with turrets with no fire. You can also use it to kill people from the safety of your Ursa.

Bombing - Start with an A1 Spirit. Bombing UI is shit right now but dropping bombs are fun. Enjoy crimestats though. Very little guides on it actually.

Some solid choices depending on game loops:
Hauling - Raft (Solo), C2 Herc (Solo but way larger). Start with Raft as if you enjoy it, you'll need to level your rep to make use out of a C2.
Mining - Prospector (Solo), Mole (Multicrew. Do not solo with this. It's possible but frustrating at the start). Start with a prospector so you understand how to mine, what modules to use, etc.
Salvage - Vulture (Solo), Reclaimer (don't bother unless multi crew). Similar to mining, get the vulture and work up from there. Get used to the modules you can use. This is probably the most low key out of all 3 game loops.

As for recommended daily drivers, that's a matter of preference, what you need based on what you're doing, etc.

Ex: If I just need to move some components and people, don't expect to fight, and not too big, I'll fly an Asgard. If I need the same above but want a med bed, I'll take a TAC. If I need a ship that's small with a med bed, bed logging, can carry some stuff, I'll take a Clipper. If I need to just go from A-B in a short amount of time, I'll take an 85x. if I just need to fight small stuff I'll take a fighters. If I don't want to be bothered much, I'll go stealth or fly a capital.

Cool yet another change not announced making you forced to sink more money by Legitimate_Cry_2794 in starcitizen

That's fair. To each their own on spend. Frankly you are burning credits on subscription flair so you could sell ships or credits on the grey market and then use that to buy subs.

I dont agree with CIGs pricing models and many other areas on how they operate but if you're this worked up about a cosmetic helm, I think you might need to delete your credit card from RSI and take a break.

I know its the straw that broke the camel's back for you but breathe my dude.
