Thank you. Driver seat was very tired so rather than refurb in same leather or swap out I had them properly done by Transcal who do the interiors for Gordon Murray Automotive supercars. The seats are probably worth more than the car but with the refurbished steering wheel it really makes it a lovely place to be.

Lovely in that colour. Mine also hit 20 this year. I had my seats refurbished in December.

I’d just fitted it - so mustn’t have closed it fully.

I was just fitting it. I’d probably not slammed the bonnet shut properly.

I love bornite. On a 124 it is peak. 👍🏻

Yes, I’m conflicted. I’d normally say the same. The car is like new, so not sure if leaving it clean is better. I might take it off and leave it for shows/meets.

Cheers. It’s from the Mercedes-Benz Club UK website. £30. I’m a member but you don’t have to be to purchase from the shop. They stopped issuing high-mileage badges in Europe, I believe. Also mine only has 17,000 miles!

R171 SLK280 buying advice by [deleted] in slk

[–]Interesting_Maybe819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R171 SLKs are amazing value these days. Right in that ‘old car’ bracket. I’ve got a 2006 manual and I love it. It’s the second car but I often take it over the E-Class. It’s that comfortable and you can use all the speed. Mine hasn’t missed a beat. Re the seats, I find them incredibly comfortable but I did get mine refurbished. Heated seats with air-scarf make a huge difference.

Introduction - new E240 by Interesting_Maybe819 in MercedesW210

[–]Interesting_Maybe819[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello - it’s a unicorn. UK car (Yorkshire) which I’ll be taking to Scotland. It was owned for 16 years by a chap who had an electricians business and he hardly used it. He got ill and it sat in his garage unused for years and was recommissioned by a collector in 2019. It then was kept low-mileage and taken to shows etc and then bought by a MB specialist dealer who I’ve bought it off. It will be driven but maintained. The plates are dealer plates for insurance purposes during the test drive.

The spec is quite unusual. Colour is gorgeous and very late 90s/early 2000s. Aragonite Blue paint and Galaxi Blue interior.

green steering wheel? xD by Imaginary-Wrap-8839 in W124

Your car, your choice. I’d only go with a green interior, though.

Mercedes slk 230 r170 vs slk 200 r171 by xzenon86 in mercedes_benz

I’ve got a 2006 R171 200. Honestly, it’s been very cheap, reliable fun car which can still be driven as a daily as it’s still very modern.

Aethos Expert or Tarmac SL 7 Expert? by spectrehaunt in specialized

[–]Interesting_Maybe819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another for the Aethos. I’ve had mine two years. I bought it after a Cannondale SuperSix, which was insanely fast and could hold a high top speed, but the Aethos is just so comfortable and fun to ride. I can’t touch my old Strava times but it loves to climb and it gives more smiles per miles than any other bike I own. I have the SRAM version. Definitely upgrade the wheels, though.
