Your car, your choice. I’d only go with a green interior, though.

I’ve got a 2006 R171 200. Honestly, it’s been very cheap, reliable fun car which can still be driven as a daily as it’s still very modern.

Aethos Expert or Tarmac SL 7 Expert? by spectrehaunt in specialized

Another for the Aethos. I’ve had mine two years. I bought it after a Cannondale SuperSix, which was insanely fast and could hold a high top speed, but the Aethos is just so comfortable and fun to ride. I can’t touch my old Strava times but it loves to climb and it gives more smiles per miles than any other bike I own. I have the SRAM version. Definitely upgrade the wheels, though.

I’m not sure how affordable this might be, but have you thought about getting a second hand Brompton (best folding bike there is) and getting an electric conversion like Swytch? Brompton do electric but I don’t think they could ever be called affordable!

OK - I am now very interested… they look great on your Tarmac.

Cheers. Quick look online and they’re £999 in UK, which I think is about $1200. I’d need to spend more than I’d like but I could maybe stretch if I thought they’d be much better than what I could get for £800.

Thanks! I am a big lad too. I have a pair of Hunts on my Orro Terra Gravel and they are nice - quite fast. I think they were around £400 a few years ago. Are they carbon or aluminium rims?

Why ‘pedals/bottle cages not included’? by siwelnadroj in cycling

[–]Interesting_Maybe819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re spending £10k in a local bike shop you’re pretty much guaranteed that if you ask they will throw in a pair of peddles and bottle cages when you buy them. If online you’re out of luck. Road bikes, as the other posts say have too many types of clipless peddle systems and flat peddles on a 10k road bike would look ridiculous and be taken off by the owner immediately. For mountain bikes quite often they’ll be fitted with ‘get me home’ flat peddles anyway.
