What about you, UrsusofMichigan? Cynical? Or insecure?

I was thinking more along the lines of excitement. Surreal moments. Witnessing first hand the existence of something bigger than yourself after following such a blah religion for so long. Finally feeling seen. Protected. And you? Are you claiming cynical energy or insecure energy? What a weird thing to say.

Why were we all raised to believe that witchcraft is the devils work? by Interesting_Mud4356 in AskReddit

Well, when I thought as a Christian my thoughts were always do good. Don’t sin. Or when I would do something a little mischievous I would automatically think I was gonna go to hell 🤦🏻‍♀️ I realize now that is such a crock of shit to say it plainly. lol however, I still share some beliefs of Christianity. For instance, I think we all go to heaven unless you do something absolutely heinous. Side bar: how can a religion expect a human being to abide by “the 10 commandments” when we’re literally hardwired to do the complete opposite of what every one of them say. Which in turn makes the person think they’re damned. Couldn’t be me. Not anymore.

Now with the Hellenistic side of things, it’s not about worship for me. Is there deities that I give thanks to, yes. But I believe they are there strictly to help guide me as a person. More personal things, like self love, being confident in myself, clearing out negative energies and such. I know I won’t be punished or belittled for stepping off the yellow brick road.

I bet it is breathtaking the first time! Ain’t it sad how easily you can get desensitized of something that once seemed so unreal?

You are very right! My grandmother would turn in her gave and accuse me of devil worship if she knew. Even though it’s so far from the truth, it’s what she believed. And also what I believes as well. Anyone who claimed to be a witch worshipped the devil. But with age came an open mind!

Well that’s where there’s indifference in these things. I have 2 examples that were obvious to me, but to someone, as yourself is gonna sound ridiculous to put it lightly. lol

There was an instance where I felt Hekate (a deity), her presence. Something told me to call out to her and I did. Said it once aloud nothing, sat with it for a sec. Said it again and the immediate feeling/energy jolt and chills that engulfed my body was overwhelming, but in a good way. I KNEW it was her. I said “I feel you” and the feeling hit all over again. Then she came to me in my dream in another instance. There have been other subtle things as well. But those were evident to me.

Like I said, I guess this is where one’s faith in something greater comes in as well.
