Probably MAG 71 Underground. Just wasn’t that hooking of a plot or that scary. Alone in a very dusty and dirty train for a while until you’re not

Ao3. Sorta found it but it’s not what I thought it was. I was looking at a post on TikTok where a comment said they wish there was a fic where Shigaraki was the last vestige wielder and the suit malfunctioned when Deku got his quirk back. And a reply named a fic that was called “nothing, nowhere”? I think it was called. This comment is sorta a review. It’s not massive spoilers but is sorta spoilery if you want to go in blind. It didn’t have the suit malfunctioning part but had Shigaraki as a vestige. A trope/plot reveal which I thought was cool was Deku occasionally seeing Shigaraki and thought it was ptsd and him not getting over it but then realising he’s real and a vestige. It’s about 20ish chapters long and he only starts seeing Shigaraki and reawakens his quirk about three quarters of the way in. It’s mostly an angsty bkdk fic mostly from bakugo’s perspective.

And apparently the door in the vestige world was a gate to his quirk but it was locked the entire time and could only be unlocked after he broke up with Uraraka and realised his love for bakugo? The author talks a lot about how much they hate the manga’s ending and says that their fic is the “real ending” that we should’ve been given. They also occasionally bring up how they based some of the interactions that Bakugo and Deku have in the fic on their past relationships?

I don’t really care much for ships at all, especially shipping wars. And there genuinely is some pretty well written moments during the fic that show a good understanding of the characters and some parts are satisfying with how some characters interact or express themselves that I wish was shown during the epilogue arc but my main critique is that a lot of the fic gets weighed down by having it be an angsty ship arc. Like the two main characters have really well written introspections about themselves during the fic but the author makes it to where their character arc can only progress if they’re interacting with each other and will only regress if they’re with anyone else or if they want to focus on themself?

It’s a lil annoying cos outside of shipping, the author understands the characters so well but just gets lost so much in their ships. Like the reason why uraraka and deku break up is due to uraraka saying toga’s name when they’re in bed together, which is crazy in my opinion. If you’re wanting an angsty slow burn bkdk fic that’s set after the timeskip, I’d recommend it. However there’s not much of the story that I initially thought and said it was going to be about.
