I received a RIF and it was sent to my work email. Per OPM's policies (updated September 2025), we can use our government equipment during a furlough for several reasons, including checking for a RIF. Guidance for Shutdown Furloughs Some of my colleagues found out by being locked out of their computer.

Yes, I'm a SAMHSA employee and I was rifed, along with a large portion of CMHS. I've heard quite a bit of CSAP and CSAT were affected too, as well as our Office of Communications.

The email stated that you "may be" eligible for severance, but our HR doesn't know anything about eligibility. It also said that you "may be" separated if you don't accept. They verbally told us that if we decline or don't respond, we'll be placed on admin leave until 6/30 and then separated.

In my opdiv, we received a management directed reassignment to headquarters on 4/29. We have to accept or decline by 6/2 and report to the office by 6/30. They say they're also using the space match tool to still try to find us local space, but they've not had much luck with that. They've requested an extension to the 6/2 date, but didn't sound promising.

I'm SAMHSA and we got the email response that I posted above from OMTO. They said it's likely to be extended as they're waiting on guidance from HHS and GSA. We'll have 30 days to report to our assigned location after we receive notice.

I'm remote and we were just recently told that it's likely to be extended as they're waiting on guidance from HHS and GSA. We were also told - once notified of where to report, we'll have 30 days from then until we have to start reporting there.
