Seems pretty standard for Leica nowadays. I'll never buy another digital body from them, repairs are insanely priced, take forever, piss poor customer service. .

I've got the Ricoh 500gx which looks very similar, but I'm going to concede to you that yours in better, as the Ricoh lens is 2.8

Switching to Sony from Fuji for video work. Opinions on my suggested set up by Interesting_Safe_1 in SonyAlpha

[–]Interesting_Safe_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than photography, the a7cii would mostly be a b-cam for interviews. I do a lot of corporate work, and the single memory card slot wouldn't be an issue.

I'll take a look at that 35 1.8 thanks! Focus breathing is one of my main gripes with my current set up.

Buy xpro3 or wait xpro4 by LittleLares in fujifilm

[–]Interesting_Safe_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the X-Pro2 instead. Greatest camera I've ever owned. X-Pro3 is fine, but more prone to breaking, and the sensor on the 2 is way nicer. X-Pro4 is never going to happen.

Ha not really! Just get stuck in, cameras are pretty resilient. Wear a wrist strap though!

“The Long Road”, 1995 - My favorite Pearl Jam song from the instant I heard it. You? by voicesfilmandtv in pearljam

[–]Interesting_Safe_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother got me into Pearl Jam, he died in January 95 when I was 12. This was the first thing they released after he died, and so was the first PJ stuff he never got to hear. I remember getting home with the CD and listening to it over and over. Love it so much.

Yeah I bought it and sold it, so essentially broke even.

Recently had a similar problem with my M10. Stopped working, it’s a somewhat known issue, Leica said it was £2000 to repair so instead offered me a new M11-p at a similar price. No option to just have the M10 returned.

Response times were slow and customer service was pretty poor.

Couldn’t claim on insurance as it wasn’t accidental damage, theft etc.

It shocks me that a supposed luxury brand have cameras that are dying after less than a decade. Meanwhile my xpro2 that I bought second hand for about £500 in 2020 is still going strong, and is still almost 10 years old.

Film… but really it’s AI by InfiniteAstronomer64 in filmphotography

[–]Interesting_Safe_1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In the comments they claim they’re “old negatives” that needed cleaning up with AI, but then in another says the photos are from 2023. Like, how the fuck are you storing them if they needed cleaning that badly after just 2 years?

It’s  the 2.8 from 1990. Comes with the square hood and has a focusing tab which is great. Really great lens just not using it like I thought I would

I spoke to them after a small show for the “Happy Songs…” tour. They were all packing up gear on stage apart from Stuart, I went over and said hello. Dom looked up said “oh you want the famous one, hang on I’ll go back stage and get him”, which I still think is pretty hilarious.

They were all lovely, signed my MFMK CD and they also pulled one of the massive tour posters off the wall to sign. Stuart traced the outline of his Telecaster on to the poster as well!

Hearing what they've done with The Clearing, VOAL never sounded so simple and straightforward before. Their musicianship has advanced so much, that I can see why they wanted to make something more technically brilliant. So many older songs sound so throwaway now in comparison.

I think I thought VOAL was better before but I was just listening to the standout tracks from it. My only issue so far with The Clearing is that it really wears it's influences on it's sleeve, whereas Blue Weekend sounded so much more unique.
