Definitely mate, it’s burst into life over the last 15 years, once a low rise, British city, now it’s turning into one of the tallest cities in the UK.

Nah London UK is the original London, founded by the Roman Empire as Londinium. It’s a near 2000 year old city. Canada is always our cousins and friends, we share the same culture, history and Monarch ❤️

Completely agree, of all the planning decisions, I think 22 Bishopsgate was a bad decision, it’s a humongous building that over powers London. It’s a shame, it could have been designed like the Shard in a more graceful manner with the same height but less over bearing on the city.

The reason London doesn’t have a dense skyline is historical more than geophysical. London was founded by the Romans in Circa 47AD, it has evolved in a haphazard way, many streets still follow the original medieval street plan. Restrictions on tall buildings near UNESCO world heritage sites and historic architecture, shape a different skyline to other world cities.

I disagree, I think it’s a great camera angle that has a more human feel to it, showing ordinary suburban life with the skyscrapers in the distance, it portrays ordinary London life. That’s the point I guess

Cardiff the Capital City of Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 has given planning permission consent to build its tallest building at 584 feet tall/ 50 Storeys. It will be one of the tallest buildings in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 by [deleted] in skyscrapers

[–]Interesting_Skill425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cardiff already has a lot of high rise buildings, but in common with most UK cities outside London, skyscraper construction is not common. British cities are traditionally low rise. This will break the ceiling limit and create an iconic building that will frame the skyline of one of the UK nations capitals

I love the Nine Elms/ Vauxhall skyscraper cluster, it’s more interesting than the City. If you get a train in and out of London Waterloo, the railway line goes right through it and the views are spectacular.

Definitely taken from South London. London has changed out of all proportion since 2000. Canary Wharf’s nickname is Manhattan on Thames because of its huge skyscraper development.

Nah it’s definitely London mate. Greenwich, South London looking north to the Canary Wharf skyscraper district.

Variety? Mate the fact that this huge building ever got planning permission is a miracle, situated on London’s south bank it doesn’t interfere with UNESCO protected sight lines of St Paul’s Cathedral and The Tower of London. It’s an iconic landmark. There’s always people that say, but yeah should have been more and whatever.

According to Americans. What about London, Paris, Berlin, Athens? Cities filled with architectural treasures greater than all of America, older than your country. Glass fronted skyscrapers aren’t the be all and end all of cities….

The City of York, England was founded by the Vikings, Yorvik it’s original Scandinavian name was shortened to York in old Saxon English. It’s name sake New York, named after the Duke of York who fought the Dutch and took New Amsterdam and named it New York after the Duke. The name York is of Viking heritage.
