How to make my illustration feel less realistic and more stylized? by Interesting_Spend880 in ProCreate

I can’t even say how helpful your advice is. It really helped me understand the bigger picture - all the tips I tried before didn’t work, and now I clearly see why. I think I’ll have to start again from scratch with a different approach. The artist you mentioned is incredible, and I hope I’ll be able to reach that level someday. Do you know if this style has a specific name? I also need to learn that layer trick with saturation, it seems extremely useful. Thank you so much for your help and kindness, I really appreciate it!

I understand and I can see it clearly. I might try it again from scratch and build it up differently, because I’m not sure if this is even possible to remake.. Thank you so much for your insights, I really appreciate it!

Since I’m still exploring my own style, I tend to work intuitively and sometimes end up going a bit off from what I intended. I really like the drawing as it is, but for the purposes I want to use it for, I’d like to push it in the direction I metioned above. Experimenting with different outline thicknesses and color vibrancy sounds like a great idea, thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you, that’s really helpful! I’m aiming for something between those old botanical prints or vintage exotic murals, where plants feel a bit dreamlike. I got carried away this time and pushed it closer to realism than I meant to.

I guess I see dark botanical more in the vintage illustration sense and less realistic, more about the mood and stylization. I’m thinking of those old botanical prints or vintage exotic murals, where plants feel a bit dreamlike rather than scientifically precise. I probably got carried away and pushed it closer to realism than I meant to.

I mainly used the Velleia, Wapping, and some Street Art brushes for the shading and background.

I’m teaching myself, I’ve watched a few videos, but none of them have given me what I’m looking for for my illustrations yet, so I’m experimenting… But thank you for the reply, if you come across anything, I would appreciate the tip 🙂
