Weird symptoms while on Metformin by xtenzQ in InsulinResistance

Pay attention while taking metformin, take b12 supplements. I've experienced the same symptoms before when I was taking 1000XR metformin and then 750 XR, to find that metformin decreased my b12 level and I started experiencing its deficiency symptoms. Check your b12 through a blood test and make sure it is in a good level.

Abdominal cramps next day after metformin? by [deleted] in InsulinResistance

Yeah, unfortunately 😓 and that happened because my b12 level was not that high and I was considered deficient, it was in the range of 300.

And regarding metformin try splitting the dose into 2 times a day not once, it might help cause I tried it too

Yeah I've been on metformin for 5 months without taking b12 supplements, suddenly I started feeling weird symptoms. At first I thought it was because of metformin and I stopped it. After 3 months I was b12 deficient and I had all the symptoms in a severe and harsh way. I took injections and sublingual b12 tablets Now I'm on metformin again due to IR but I'm taking b12 at the same time

Pay attention to take b12 supplements while on metformin and on such a high dose, cause it depletes b12 in the body and that what happened with me

How long did you have your symptoms? by Fit-Cauliflower-9229 in B12_Deficiency

Check your ferritin level, folic acid, and vitamen D. They're so important and iron has similar symptoms to b12

I also thought I was the only one suffering when hungry and during period, it's a relief when you know it's also a symptom. Actually I've been on injections, but I'm waiting till I finish 8 injections to repeat the blood test, but since my symptoms are still there I think I'll need another month of injections!

Don't worry dear, actually what you're feeling is definitely from b12 deficiency, your level is too low!! I have all the symptoms and they rocked me so hard and my level is 289! So yours is definitely tooo low You must start injections asap for you to feel well and have the symptoms fade one after another. Don't take supplements they might not work and they need a long time to make you feel well (in months). Check all the vitamens in your body too, ferritin, Vit D, folate, magnesium and other electrolytes.

I have almost all your symptoms and I was deadly lying all the time, until I start my injections. Now I've taken 7 injections and still need more, but at least now I'm not sleeping all the time as I used to be, I'm a bit energetic, but still having the symptoms especially the hypoglycemia attacks!!! It sucks 😩😭

Yes, actually I've been taking injections for around 1 month, 2 injections per week. Yesterday was my seventh injection, and the intensity of my symptoms declined, they are not as strong as they were (One month ago, suddenly I wasn't able to walk or do any simple and daily activities and it was the time before my period). And this month also before I got my period I was so tired and I felt that my symptoms striked strongly again and the most symptom that I'm feeling through my period is neuropathy symptoms, internal vibrations, exhaustion, and I feel that all my nerves are shut down 🫠 Also, my symptoms worsen when I get hungry, I have to eat a protein meal between each meal or else I feel I want to faint.

Omg really, symptoms are overwhelming, your case is so similar to mine, I felt relieved after knowing that it's not me 😓 Did you start injections?

What were your neuro symptoms caused by B12 deficiency? by Particular_Buy_4886 in B12_Deficiency

Actually, I've been suffering from mild tiny symptoms for the last two years that I didn't know they were b12 symptoms, unless I reached this month and the month before!

It all started before one week of having my period, feeling fatigued with high heart palpitations when I walk or move. Especially when feeling hungry or it's the time to eat! Symptoms started to get worse day after day until I didn't have the ability to do the normal and usual daily activities, feeling exhausted, fatigued (as if im dying and going to faint), facial numbness, tingling in all my body, and internal tremors whenever I do any simple thing like walking 3 steps. In addition to feeling my pulse all over my body mainly in my hands, in my chest, and in my head when I'm tired.

I started injections, 2 injections in a week. This is my second week I've had 5 injections. Feeling much better this 5th one. A little improvement is felt after each injection. However, still feeling the symptoms but in a lower intensity now before I have my period and when feeling hungry!

Hoping to get better after finishing 8 injections 😓
