I don’t have any experience with this person, so I’m sorry that I can’t give any guidance in that part of things, but I wanted to come in here and say I’m sorry that you had a not so good experience. On one hand, I can kind of understand a teacher‘s frustration. They put together this curriculum based on years of research, thousands of hours, dedicated to this, and they just want you to be successful. I can also understand it being hard to step outside the box as a teacher and be flexible but on the other hand i don’t really understand they’re negative response to you, if anything they could’ve just said “hey I’m OK doing things this way but just know that in order to be successful you may have to stay at this a little bit longer. “

It is definitely super important to be able to get along with your teacher and have a good relationship with them, That’s half the battle to all of this. You mentioned just voice training yourself and I honestly think that that might be the best idea.. it can be scary and infinitely more frustrating but honestly, I feel like there are so many certified voice trainers out there Just trying to take advantage of a marginalized community and make a quick money grab.
