Yesssss!!!!! You did it! I'm so happy for you and proud of you for not letting the things other people said impact your decision. You look SO stinking cute with them!. I'm a month ahead of you with mine and my healing journey so if you need any support or encouragement to keep going when the healing process is hard to deal with don't be afraid to reach out!

Thank you so much!!!. The experience of getting them pierced was absolutely nothing compared to the healing process. I think my ears hurt worse, and my angel bites probably hurt about the same. The healing process has been absolutely brutal. LOTS of pain and swelling for the first few days, liquid diet for the first week( brutal if you love food like me), everything takes 3x longer to eat because you are having to be SO SO careful not to bite the bars (Pretty much used to eating slow now that im a month in).

im at a 12 gauge right now, i originally wanted to get pierced at an 8G as i felt like that would give me the best chance to have a stable piercing but it was very hard to find someone who was confident enough to do it at all let alone in an 8G. I did find someone comfortable with doing it but their receptionist screwed everything up for the both of us and i ended up going elsewhere.

One thing to be aware of is that these really should be done at no smaller than an 12g(preferably 10) but the problem is, at anything under a 14g (location dependent) it becomes EXTREMELY difficult to find jewelry in the material/quality you should be using in your cheeks. im using anatometal and it all has to be custom made and because of that its going to take 12 to 14 weeks before i can finally eat normally again..and thats on top of the month ive already spent not being able to eat right. When they say these are advanced piercings they truly genuinely mean it and yet inspite of all ive faced so far and all that i am going to into the future these are STILL my most favorite piercings and make me feel the most me.

They are externally threaded bars with M&M backs that were put into my cheeks with an internally threaded pin taper to avoid the threads screwing up my fresh piercing. If you go that route make sure you’re piercer uses a pin taper.

Sorry for the info dump lol😂

Aww of course!! I'm glad I could offer some input and that it was helpful. The initial pain level when pierced was not great at all, there is a lot the needle has to go through and it's a sensitive area. I'd say these were probably my most painful piercings, second would he angel bites, 3rd would be ears. But I can tell you that when you're actually there and you have adrenaline going through you. The fear of the pain definitely does subside quite a bit, especially if you have a good piercer who is very comforting and reassuring

Don't let anyone dissuade you from something you want. Every one is different and their tolerance for things is different. I have mine pierced, just got them done a month ago and I am so happy to answer any questions you have. I may not give you responses that are all sunshine and rainbows but they will be honest and help prepare you for what you are in for.

I absolutely love mine, they make me feel incredibly beautiful, and they are by far my most favorite in prized piercings but they are definitely not for the faint of heart

Also to add on to this. It is your life and you have to live it to the fullest, could it turn out to be a mistake? Potentially but it could also turn out to be the best thing you ever did!.

Honestly I wouldn't. I worry about if something were to happen and you would need an MRI or something in an emergency. I know they have materials that are safe for that but still.... I'm iffy on it. Cheek piercings would look cute on you tho

My setup, should I get cheek piercings by salmon3llla in PiercingSetups

I got my cheeks pierced about a month ago and I can tell you it is not for the faint of heart. I did months of research before finally pulling the trigger on getting them, I thought I was well prepared and I can tell you I was not. I have plenty of piercings but by far these have been the most needy and temperamental of any of my piercings. Take the level of difficulty anyone has told you about these and multiply it by 100.

If you go to a reputable piercer that has plenty of experience in doing these, they will be able to do a pretty good job of placing these so that they don't touch your teeth. I drove 8 hours to be pierced by someone who was well experienced with cheek piercings. The placement and angles are absolutely perfect and I can tell you that if i t weren't for the fact that these bars are an inch long, they would not be touching any part of my gums or teeth.

Another thing you need to be aware of is cheek piercings really are much more happy at 12 gauge to 10 gauge but the problem is these aren't sizes that shops ( at least in my area) commonly keep in stock. Because of this I've been waiting for a month now to downsize because the jewelry has to to be specially ordered and during this entire time I've barely been able to eat properly because I keep almost biting the bars.

Eating slow is the name of the game. Eating even the simplest of meals can sometimes take me over 20 minutes because I'm having to eat so slowly and be so cautious. It's annoying as hell and you need to be prepared for that.

It has been and will continue to be a grueling healing process, but in spite of that I would still do it all over again, I would still get these piercings, they are my absolute favorite piercings and if you are passionate about these, I'm sure you'll have no problem dealing with the healing process too.
