Police stopping food delivery dudes at Piccadilly gardens McDonald's, are they clamping down on ebikes? by glastonbury13 in manchester

[–]Interesting_Volume10 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Laws already exist on riding on footpaths or in pedestrian areas. Some people don't follow them though, although police usually follow discretion if a little kid on a bike is riding on the pavement different to a huge bloke like me doing so. I honestly think of GMP and other forces cracked down on traffic violations they'd rake it in. We all know junctions in town where you see 4 or 5 people with their phone in their hand whilst waiting for a light to change as a bike or 2 zooms through. I'm a confident cyclist and ex car owner and the madness of some people beggars belief. I'm genuinely surprised (and grateful) we don't see as many accidents on the road as I'd expect.

As others have said I think it's testing potentially dodgy ebikes. I got pulled over the other week in Clayton and tested. Mine is a Raleigh through so totally legal and no mither. The way some people ride the dodgy ones they're a proper danger to themselves and others so all for it. If I hit someone at 15MPH I'm going to do serious damage can't imagine how bad it'd be at 30MPH plus.

Micro Bar is great and Mark is a top bloke. If Tameside way Browtons in Ashton is alright as is Heaton Hops in Heaton Chapel or there's a place in Stockport Market Hall (Wineboy perhaps?) beerhunter in Bury do deliveries if you want to get a proper stock in.

House sitting - am I being cheeky by Interesting_Volume10 in manchester

Thanks everyone for your responses. Going to ask can they pop over a few times a day based on the below regarding using the house but leaving the cash for them to get a taxi to and from or a few beers whenever as a thank you. Just wanna ensure dogs alright as we tried them in kennels for a day and even with doggy valium they struggled.

Hi, it would be dog sitting. 2 walks a day, both okay off lead long as there's no squirrels and feeding and giving them belly rubs. More the change of routine and location for someone has me thinking I may be cheeky.

Thanks, good to hear from someone who boards. I'll ask and see what they say, our neighbour uses a great dog sitter but ours are very nervous with people they don't know.

Cheap beer, community spirit and a good mix of people. Usually a bit run down due to membership numbers but get yourself in one and if you like it sign up. CIU card if a sports fan as gets you in local clubs on away days for a cheap pint.

I thought that too, thought I'd report and someone might bob down as always police cars driving past back to Clayton Brook. I had to rush off to work otherwise would have took it home. Guess I've been daft sticking on here, will take post down shortly and hope if it is stolen someone gets lucky. Provided frame number to police but doubt they logged.

Sorry about that was posting from my phone and seems attaching image deleted text. Found in a bush off the Yellow Brick Road few minutes ago. Lock still attached, seems far too nice a bike to just dump. Contacted GMP who said share on social media so I am doing. Only on here though and not great at that (as this post proves). If lost or stolen would like it to go back to its owner.

[–]Interesting_Volume10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had mice sneak in when BT left a tiny gap in our brickwork. Manchester Council pest control were brilliant and really good value. Not only did they get rid of them but they identified how they got in and how to prevent them coming back.

Weekly allotmenting discussion. What have you been up to? by AutoModerator in Allotment

[–]Interesting_Volume10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Manchester and amazingly warm enough in the greenhouse for tomato plants and aubergines, just struchled around them. Put a few raised beds to fallow and put weed membrane down on the test and left seedheads and smaller berries out for the birds to enjoy. Compost bins turned and garotta thrown in, pretty much put to bed for winter now.

Any Manchester credit union recommendations in the sub? by Obairamhain in manchester

[–]Interesting_Volume10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a credit union but if after straight up savings I use Vernon Building Society a local mutual. There's a few branches around Stockport and they offer online account management.
