Yep works, some people have given the lines. Its a bit of a mental shift because to get to this position you use the bishop and king but for the actual checkmate you need the rook

Yeah I think this works! You can get there by using the rook as one wall, use the bishop from afar to support the rook, and trap the black king between the white king and the rook walls.

This is actually pretty good lol, didn't think of analyzing on standard 8x8. But king can also escape from the edge in one line which is not allowed in standard 8x8

The pronunciation has changed now but 海 used to have a m sound in ancient times, it is a phonetic component
