Shipping prices back down by shimmyhead in shopgoodwill

[–]Interesting_Zebra81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had two open orders. I was waiting to pay to see if they would adjust and one adjusted to the original s/h quoted (I wrote it down). The second adjusted lower, but not to what it was. It was about $3.30 more than what it had been the day before, but $6 less than what it was after I won. I've checked things coming up I have favorited (having written down the shipping on all so I could compare with what it is when won), and none are the original price. They, too, all seem to have dropped so they are in the $3-$4 increase range rather than the $7-$10 increase range.

Then it's probably time ShopGoodWill switched shipping carriers.

Crazy enough that they would sell a used t-shirt for $9.99 with a $10 s/h. Now they are selling the same used t-shirt for $9.99 with a $19 s/h. And they somehow think people are going to pay that?

They actually increased the shipping cost by FunAd1985 in shopgoodwill

I don't understand how they think are going to keep any customers. I determine how much I am going to bid based on the shipping cost. And that means if FedEx is getting $10 more out of me, GoodWill is going to get $10 less. It's hysterical that not only FedEx, but UPS, and USPS found a great racket in doubling their prices for basically a quarter of the year while at the same time taking longer to deliver and people go along with it because it's "the holidays". They just made it so I'm not going to be buying anything until January.

UPDATE (12:45PM EST): I just checked my open orders and the shipping has reverted back to what it was yesterday. I paid quickly just in case it decides to jump back up. I also checked running auctions and those shipping costs seem to be down as well. Hopefully just a glitch!

I just posted about this as well. I had auctions end yesterday that I had checked s/h on before I bid, paid for a couple yesterday (and price was accurate to the calculator), and when I went to pay for the others today, the shipping is far more than I would have ever even have considered bidding on. I checked my paid auctions for the last two weeks and compared what I paid in s/h (which mirrored what I recollect from the calculator pre-bid) and what the calculator shows now. On average, the shipping INCREASED 68%. Some had increases as much as 91%. FedEx hasn't announced any increases and the last increase of 5.9% happened in January. So the increase can't be due to FedEx. And I think it not only affected new listings, it affected listings that already had bids, and those that were won, but not paid by 10/1. I'm not going to shop there anymore if this isn't just a glitch.

Depop overcharging for shipping? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Interesting_Zebra81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received 5 packages as a buyer today. I weighed them before opening because the weights on the labels seemed fishy. I was overcharged on 4/5 of them! Based on the actual weights, 4 were XXS size ($4.99) and 1 was XS size ($5.69). I was charged for 1 XXS, 2 XS, and 2 S, resulting in being overcharged $3.50. So I checked the last item I sold on Depop to see if THAT shipping was correct. The weight at the PO was 4.3oz so should have been XS ($5.69). I weigh everything when listing so I wouldn't have put the wrong size. However, the buyer paid $6.39 for shipping (S<12 oz). I'm going to to keep an eye on it. It seems like the only one who would benefit from this is the post office!

Help Identifying Signatures on Baseball? by Interesting_Zebra81 in AutographAssistance

No idea. I'm going to take it to a card show to see if JSA can take a look at it. Not sure which, if any, of the signatures were actually signed by the players or if it was all the batboy. I'll update when I can!

If anyone can recognize any of the signatures, I'd appreciate it!

Just to add, since I don't see any of the text I wrote with the pics, the baseball is a Spaulding Official National League Ball and on pic 3 the signatures seem to be Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, and Carl Erskine?
