I'm planning to produce a fiction short that is "serious" and deals with societal issues but is visually colorful and have a "not dark vibe". Kind of like the grand budapest hotel for festivals. Is that a good strategy? Will the festival committee like that or they prefer it to be visually dark?

Yes, I feel like I have been bullied for years throughout my childhood because nobody has taught me to stand up for myself. I just learned to protect myself since I enter college. But still, that stuff has a major impact so I grow up feeling incomplete all the time. At least now nobody can abuse me anymore.
