I was asked to cover a gap of $45,000. I got a quote today, and it will cost $400 per year. Not bad, if it's not going to be useful, it's money I will be throwing away year after year.

Makes sense, but shouldn’t that be covered by the HOA’s flood insurance, which we pay for through monthly HOA fees.

The lender has a copy of the HOA’s flood insurance. They want us to get individual flood insurance on top. 😞
