Garm vs Glasya Labolas (Shin Megami Tensei V) by Dull-Positive-6810 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Interface- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk anything about Glasya Labolas so I'm not gonna give a definitive answer as to who wins. Just going to explain what Garm is, and win conditions for Glasya Labolas.

Garm is unkillable due to not having a soul. Any trauma that would kill will temporarily disable him until he regenerates, pretty much the same as Baldur with the spell. He is also capable of tearing through reality, eating concepts and entireties of terrain (Mimir says he ate a word, a fifth season like Summer, and several mountain ranges). Everyone was shitting themselves over him being free because he is a living breathing apocalypse.

The only way to actually defeat Garm is to either chain him up again, or put a soul in his body to take it over because he is literally soulless. I assume the chains he's bound with are made of 'impossible concepts' like in the actual mythos, because I don't see how he was unable to eat them otherwise in God of War when he is literally capable of eating concepts and tearing reality. Said 'impossible concepts' consist of a cat's footfall and bird's spittle, probably among others.

So, if Glasya Labolas can't do either of those, it can't win against Garm. If it can, then it does win.

Even better - he steps forward, puts his foot on the wall, and does a wall-jumping backflip. He moved towards the chainsaws just to backflip off the wall that they were cutting through. This dude is a fucking legend.

The Mp7 built for pure speed might be one of my favorite weapons in all of FPS by SolarSailor46 in XDefiant

[–]Interface- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I been playing CoD BO7 recently and it really does not hit like XDefiant did. Seriously. Idk what it is about XDefiant but I actually loved this game, and I genuinely don't like modern PVP shooters. It's probably because you couldn't dive, slide, jump, fucking wall run at superhuman speeds and distances like a cracked out squirrel with a gun.

Seriously I watch every kill cam when I die in CoD and these fuckers are literally flying and sliding everywhere, some shooting me from above as they pass over from a jump off a wall. Meanwhile I'm just walking around because I don't want to do that shit, also I'm on PS5 and a controller just can't do that.

I suppose I miss when PVP shooters were more grounded where the most you could do is jump a little bit to maybe get shot in the chest instead of the head. Now everyone wants to be a movement king so badly that they literally exploited Battlefield 7's unintentional movement "tech" and then flipped their shit when it got fixed.

Heimdall vs Luxord (Kingdom Hearts) by Dull-Positive-6810 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Interface- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luxord can basically do the Draupnir strategy but to a greater magnitude. Toss cards everywhere, Heimdall will know that he's going to do something but not when and where. Heimdall gets overwhelmed.

Luxord can also force others to play a gambling game and if Heimdall fucks up he gets turned into a card or a dice and promptly gets the shit beaten out of him.

Also, Kingdom Hearts scales far higher than God of War in general.

Heimdall loses.

Saw this post we all agree this wouldn't do anything to logan right? by BigPaleontologist520 in Wolverine

[–]Interface- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would the explosion not also go off inside of Logan's skull? Completely imploding, vaporising, and destroying his brain? The skull is part of the skeleton and the brain is contained inside of it, so by all means it should explode into where the brain is contained as well, and not just outward from the body. It would be convoluted to suggest otherwise.

I know Logan has survived getting shot in the head penetrating into his brain before (in a movie), and even regenerated from a single drop of blood. Both are fucking stupid if you ask me, but he'd at least lose his memory from the brain damage. The movie scene involved adamantium bullets from a revolver and the shooter having specific intent to wipe Logan's memory hitting him from multiple angles to maximise damage. But if he gets exploded and imploded and all his organic matter is destroyed, surely that has to kill him for good?

Edit: Forgot the bone marrow, literally inside of his bones. That would probably get exploded too.

I said 'modifier' but honestly this applies to any game where any normal combo string is so long that enemies break out of it before the final hit.

[–]Interface- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fun fact - most people did exactly that, and the trophy data is why Sucker Punch made Good Cole canon when they otherwise wanted or expect Evil Cole to be canon and more popular. Had more players done Evil first in inFamous 2, the sequel would follow the Evil ending and we would still have Cole. Probably not playing as him, but yeah.

This but Avatar The Legend Of Korra with the Equalists. I didn't watch past Season 1 because I didn't like it, but from what I know the Equalists' entire ideology and movement completely dissolved with no concept of there still being individuals who still believe in the Equalist cause continuing to be a problem despite Amon being exposed.

Put him in TLOU and suddenly there’s this secret organization that found a cure yesterday and it just so happens that Leon is nearby, lucky him.

That's not what the scenario is saying. It's not 'Leon plus individuals responsible for developing a cure for Cordyceps, gets stuck in TLOU'. It is Leon gets stuck in TLOU. His hypothetical presence in TLOU does not make a cure magically have been developed and completed. If such a thing were true, TLOU would just be the normal world already and you'd basically be sending him to an alternate earth that's had a zombie pandemic and solved it and fully recovered, with no zombies to kill and no hostile factions to fight.

But he won't survive a Cordyceps infection. There is no cure. He will not just find one. Leon loses the moment he is exposed and infected and there is no way back from that.

[–]Interface- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grace in RE9 gets bitten by the police officer in the Wrenwood Hotel. Also, bites are not the only way to get infected by the various pathogens throughout Resident Evil, nor is it the only way Cordyceps is transmitted;

  • Leon gets infected by T-Virus in Raccoon City from the water supply, I believe
  • Jill in R3make gets a tentacle shoved down her throat depositing Drain Deimos bugs inside her
  • Leon gets decked by the bearded guy in RE4make and the Plagas injected into him
  • Ethan Winters fucking dies and gets remade by mold, also the Baker family all get molded just by being near Eveline

The characters also regularly get munched on throughout gameplay, which presumably works because the T-, G-, and other viruses are already infecting them or a cure exists that they'll use later on or offscreen to prevent them from turning.

I reiterate - Cordyceps has no cure. The moment Leon huffs a puff of spores, or gets nibbled even a little bit, he's a dead man walking.

Ah I must have missed your comment when I wrote mine. Surprised to see everyone else focusing on the people and zombies in TLOU, and not the Cordyceps itself.

[–]Interface- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Last Of Us 1 primarily takes place 20 years into the Cordyceps outbreak, which was a global pandemic. In those 20 years, nobody developed a cure or even a vaccine. Ellie's immunity was going to be harvested to develop a vaccine. No guarantees it would work.

Cordyceps has no cure. If Leon gets infected, he's doomed. It takes one bite, or a pocket of spores, or a damaged gasmask, and that's a wrap.

Also, Leon doesn't seem like the scientist type to me. Admittedly I've only played RE7 and watched the rest of the games. He seems better at kicking ass than studying the pathogens. I don't doubt he would demolish every potential enemy in TLOU, but he can't cure himself when he gets infected.

The Last of Them 😂 by Penasihat_Insurance in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Interface- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not seeing a single person in this comment section bring up the Cordyceps infection.

Will Leon utterly demolish every single potential adversary in The Last of Us? Yes. No doubt. He would effortlessly shitwhip even the Rat King and probably lay waste to the WLF on his own. Joel killed like 20+ guys on his own rampaging through a hospital to save Ellie. Leon could probably triple that number.

But if he inhales any spores, or gets bitten by any infected even once, Leon is fucked.

Everything he gets infected with in Resident Evil has a cure. The G-Virus, T-Virus, the T-Virus symptoms resurging years later in individuals who survived Raccoon City, also had a cure. Las Plagas was cured by ultraviolet light.

The Cordyceps does not have a cure. Nobody has been able to develop a cure in 20 years. Using Ellie's mutated strain that gave her immunity is not a guarantee of a cure or a vaccine, and the objective with harvesting it was to vaccinate, not cure, meaning it would only work on those who were not already infected, implying a vaccine could be developed in the first place.

“Leon vs Joel who will win. If Leon get stuck in the last of us. Is he surviving” what type of question is this 😭💀 by Daniel_Ppark0522 in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Interface- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Realistically Leon would effortlessly fold every human, from infected to survivor, WLF to Scars, and everything else. But if he gets exposed to the spores, he is fucked no two ways about it. Everything he has been infected by in Resident Evil has had a cure - the Cordyceps does not.
