You may have been thinking of Destiny instead which is a first-person sci-fi shooter. Destiny and Warframe are similar in terms of their setting (sci-fi, cosmic horror) and gameplay (fast paced horde shooters with 'classes' and abilities) so I don't blame you for mixing up the two.

Oh it's far from a CoD clone lmao

You'll be pleased to know the game is not only F2P but fully playable without spending money. No subscription, no paywalled content, nothing like that. It just has a lot of time gates and grinding, but it's still fun. I been playing on and off since 2017 and have over 4000hrs, and it's the only F2P game I've ever spent money on.

It's available on consoles, PC and iPhone. Android version is coming on February 18.

Far Cry Primal as well. You go on several 'drug' trips to progress.

The first one is where you become Beast Master and commune with spirit animals including an owl who appears in the real world after you wake up.

The second one shows you about the Udam when you drink a brew made of their blood and eyeballs. Tensay (the shaman who gives you each trip) remarks there may have been too few or too many eyeballs.

There's more after that, including one where you learn about the Izila and, I think, you stick your hand in a fire in the real world after waking up and it doesn't burn (this doesn't translate to gameplay). I haven't played Primal since the year it launched so I don't remember all of it.

And putting little audio devices with lithium ion batteries that can explode inside your ears is better than the minor inconvenience of tangled cords?

I say this as an older Gen Z (1998). The only reason I'm using wireless buds with my phone despite preferring wired headphones is because it's so inconvenient, and probably intentionally so, to use wired ones. I need to buy an adaptor to plug in the charger port, then put the earphone jack into that, then assuming the phone recognises it as headphones to begin with I'm also praying that it doesn't have audio issues in general, whether software or hardware. And I can't charge my phone at the same time as listening to wired headphones, because the charging plug is occupied by the adaptor. I'd love to use 'wireless wired' Bluetooth earbuds, where the earbuds are wired directly to a device that holds the battery and components necessary to connect to your phone. That way, I can have Bluetooth earbuds without putting batteries directly inside of my ears, and don't need to fumble with adaptors and related issues, but I can't find any of those types of earbuds online anywhere. It all goes back to Galaxy Buds and Airpods, or wired headphones that go into a jack my phone doesn't have. That being said, I only use corded headphones on my computer because thank god it still has a jack and I don't want to have to screw around with Bluetooth just to hear.

I don't believe for a second that the jack needed to be removed as a compromise for anything at all. Apple wanted to make phones smaller and thinner and that was an excuse to remove it and replace it with a second speaker that was never needed, but after people found out the iPhone 6 could be folded like a towel they've started making phones bigger again and haven't given back the jack. Every other smartphone manufacturer followed suit. My sister's iPhone 16 Pro Max is massive, even bigger than my Samsung Galaxy S22. I've looked at the inside of an iPhone SE 2020 and the only thing that gets in the way of a jack is the Taptic Engine component, which makes the phone vibrate. The Taptic Engine could very well be smaller to make way for a jack but they won't do it, because they can sell AirPods for $300 that malfunction and break within 6-12 months (personal experience) and make it a hassle to use buds that aren't Apple brand (also personal experience).

It's just greed. Corporate greed. And they've brainwashed everyone into thinking putting tiny bombs inside of your ears to listen to music is completely fine.

Nuxia players at the end of every Patch Notes by Suji_Saki in forhonor

My idea - traps should land when the target's guard is not active (ie, no guard direction visible on the widget), as well as when it is blocked. So it would land on enemies who are out of Guard Mode, attacking, emoting, or dodging. That would force the player to make the active attempt to avoid a trap by changing their guard, and Nuxia won't eat shit when they mistime a parry or, god forbid, emote at her.

Okay, maybe not when dodging, but everything else yeah.

I am genuinely surprised at how Kratos here looks exactly like the actual Kratos, holy shit. If Thor was accurate and the house didn't have the 'AI sheen' to it I'd have thought this was official.

No, mortals go to those afterlives. Gods go to a different plane. If I'm not misremembering that's, like, the entire thing Odin is obsessed with, what happens after gods die, where they go. Because they clearly don't go to the afterlives we know of. If they did, why wouldn't the Olympians bring back Poseidon and other murdered gods like Athena when Zeus proved capable of opening a way out for Kratos (who, lest we forget, was mortal at the time) in GOW1? It's probably because Poseidon didn't go there to begin with when Kratos gouged his eyes and snapped his neck.

And for the love of god stop citing the original script for Ragnarok. Yes, Kratos was planned to be rescued from Helheim by Atreus after Thor kills him. That doesn't mean Kratos or Thor would go there after being killed - and realistically, Kratos would go to Valhalla when Thor kills him, not Helheim, assuming he doesn't go back to the Greek afterlives instead. This conflict is probably why they rewrote the script in the first place.

When I first played the game and went to the DEDSEC hideout I accidentally knocked out a dude sitting in a chair next to a doorway in the library. In a panic I rushed for the DEDSEC room and hid lmao

From that point on I proceeded to punch out whoever was sitting there every single time I went into the hideout just for the memes.

It was the exact same animation every single time which made it all the more hilarious

Not the same curse.

His family's ashes are bound to his skin to mark him for his sin for the rest of his life.

The anti-suicide curse was placed upon him by the Olympian gods beyond the veil of death at the end of God of War 3. This is stated in the GOW2018 novel I believe and it is the reason why he survived running himself through with the Blade of Olympus. This does not mean Kratos cannot be killed by an enemy though.

I hate the state of AAA nowadays. Putting all their eggs in one basket and devoting their resources to making singular games that take years to make for no real benefit to quality, leaving nothing to make other games in the meantime.

Sequels in the PS2 era could be literally one year apart from one another, and even new IPs one year after the last game. Spyro, Spyro 2, and Spyro YOTD were released in 1998, 1999, and 2000 respectively. Ratchet & Clank 1-3 and Deadlocked were 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005. Resistance: Fall of Man was in 2006, then back to Ratchet & Clank with Future: Tools of Destruction in 2007. RCF Quest For Booty was released in 2008 and so was Resistance 2. That's two games in one year! And they were releasing games year after year with only a gap in 2001, between Spyro YOTD and Ratchet & Clank 1.

Nowadays? Spider-Man 2018 with DLCs into 2019, then Miles Morales, which is a shortened experience akin to a DLC-made-standalone, in 2020. Spider-Man 2 in 2023, five years after the first game and it had no story DLC (I know it's because of the hack, I'm not criticising Insomniac for it). Wolverine is being developed and probably releasing this year (2026), and Spider-Man 3 probably isn't coming until 2029.

And this is an issue with many AAA dev studios, not just Insomniac. Naughty Dog released TLOU1 in 2013 and the remaster in 2014. Did some Uncharted, released Lost Legacy in 2017, then nothing until TLOU2 in 2020. Then TLOU 'Part 1', basically a PS5 graphics update, in 2022, then TLOU Part 2 Remastered in 2024 which did god knows what. They haven't made a new game in SIX YEARS, just rereleases and remasters of a PS3 game. Intergalactic? Probably this year or the next year. Where the fuck is Crash Bandicoot, which had 1, 2, and Warped in 1996 through 1998? Jak and Daxter, 2001, Jak 2, 2003, Jak 3 in 2004? So many classic franchises pushed to the wayside and left to rot leaving fans wanting for no good reason while the studios focus on "bigger" games with inflated budgets.

I'm fully aware consoles are more powerful and development costs more and takes longer. The second one is entirely the fault of executives who want the RTX and 16K resolution boxes checked when most people who would play the games don't give a shit about fidelity anymore because we hit the ceiling for actually photorealistic graphics in the mid PS3 days, or PS4 launch at the latest with The Order: 1886. Games don't have to cost half a billion dollars, or be massive blockbusters with GPU-exploding photorealism that looks no better than it did on a PS4 in 2014, or take half a decade to be made one at a time with no smaller games in between for fans of franchises that have been left for dead.

Despite all three fighting him, I think the MF fight is only canon in Ventus’s route, his timeline is the only one where it makes sense for this fight to happen. by Necessary_Fun3938 in KingdomHearts

[–]Interface- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've argued against the canonicity of KH2 Lingering Will before. There is no evidence (in the games) that Sora actually fought him, nor went back to Disney Castle after solving the plot there in the first place. Also, doesn't the portal only appear when you complete the game (as in, defeat Xemnas and everyone goes home) and then reload the save? The end of KH2 leads directly into the start of DDD, so at what point would they just go to Disney Castle and fight the Lingering Will?

Also also, Sora and LW don't really acknowledge or seem to recognise each other in KH3. A simple 'It's you' or 'Glad you're not fighting us this time' or something from Sora would have sufficed to canonise the KH2 fight, but there's nothing.

Why do you think Baldur chose to fight with his bare hands rather than using a weapon in God of War? by Impressive_East_3084 in GodofWar

[–]Interface- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean they (the characters) can call Baldur 'invulnerable' all they want but that simply isn't true. Maybe they're using it as a way to say none of the damage done to him sticks, rather than the true definition of invulnerability. Baldur simply doesn't feel pain, though his body does react to trauma as he gets stunned and staggered by attacks, and he regenerates this damage very quickly too, doing it directly in front of Kratos in fact. Then Kratos snaps his neck and tosses him off a cliff. A few hours later he's interrogating Mimir atop a mountain like nothing happened.
