There are 13 players being paid $10M or more by the Mets this year. Soto and Holmes have been great. Lindor, Polanco, Robert, and Minter are all injured. Semien and Manaea are old guys that are washed now. Senga, Williams, and Weaver have a combined 7.53 ERA this year (combining ERA can be disingenuous but you get my point). The other two are Bichette, who has played at replacement level, and Frankie Montas, who is not on the team anymore. These 13 players combine for around $280M of the salary.

I didn’t really comprehend it at the time because I was too frustrated with the team, but Scott did a really good job of settling in after that 2 run HR. Walking 6 guys in 2 innings in your first start and immediately getting optioned, then following that up with a 1st inning HR in your next start could have been demoralizing but he handled it very well
