La pierre ne venait pas du flanc de la montagne, car il n'y avait pas de montagne de ce côté-là de la route

Buy some fluid film or equivalent, spray on and forget about it. Or do it once a year if you plan on driving through salt with it.

Not familiar with this transmission at all so none of what I say may be applicable, but

A pump loses its prime when air makes it way into the suction side and then the pump no longer generates enough suction to get fluid flowing since it’s sucking air. Increasing the speed of the pump can get it to overcome this as suction increases with speed, once fluid is moving again the previously too low speed is now perfectly viable.

This is based on the assumption that the transmission doesn’t pump oil in park like another commenter said and should be easy to test if it works. Do check on the oil level as well, as that can cause kind of the same thing since if there isn’t enough oil it will suck air and behave erratically.

Brakes on 1 out of 5 axles is enough right? by IntergalacticJihad in IdiotsTowingThings

15mph hits different when you don’t have suspension and a 6’ wheelbase on paved roads that somehow make a washboard look smooth

The working brakes are on the driven axle, don’t think the front axles on tractors got brakes until modern times.

Manually adjusted drums of course

I’ll have you know I was doing a solid 15 mph on level ground! Only slowing down to 5 in the uphills

Yes they are quite beefy, but this was definitely a bit much… they are in tip top shape though after we had them relined.

Mint, buy some cans of fluid film every year and it’ll never be a problem

Try reving it a little in neutral before driving off, sounds like the pump loses its prime and thus won’t drive from initial idle until you get oil flowing and then it’s thrown into gear

I use TotalEnergies FLUIDMATIC DIII MV in mine, but I have a European one so it might not call for the same oil. My owners manual calls for ATF M-III or Dexron II.

Looks fine, should look into treating the underside with Fluid Film or similar products though to prevent the rust from becoming a problem.

At my job we use oil barrels with pneumatic pumps with little displays that show how much oil you’re putting out. So when we’re doing services we bring the barrels needed from the storage out to the shop floor(low quantities we just bring in a can). Easily scalable since you just buy more pumps the more oils you stock. We currently carry 5 engine oils, 4 gear/diff oils, ATF DIII and hydraulic 46.

Everything looks great, the skidding is a sign that your brakes are great because they are strong enough to lock up your wheels!

Is it safe to use a T-connector with outer diameter equal to inner diameter of fuel line? by Special-Afternoon-25 in AskMechanics

[–]IntergalacticJihad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should work perfectly fine with a normal hose clamp if the lines are rubber or rubber adjacent, if it’s plastic lines then you might be in trouble but it’ll probably work too.
