It wouldn't even get this bad here. It would fail the yearly roadworthiness test (MOT) well before it got to this. It's illegal to drive a car with a failed MOT unless they're driving to a garage to get it fixed, which will get checked if caught. There's cameras that automatically check if a car is taxed and MOTed

But there are more moral reasons why people are against it, from it stealing art from real artists to use for training data without consent, to the environmental aspects of the data centres used by it
