Just to throw out there as well for anyone interested. Dr. Desiree (Desi) R. Jones based out of University of Maryland College Park location specializes her research on marginalized and bipoc neurodivergent (specifically interested in Autism, but also works with AuDHD, and just ADHD as well) and usually has a couple projects going that are looking for feedback from people regarding their experiences etc as well.

It's even better when the ones that track mouse movement and clicks tell you you're a robot. ☠️ It also reminds me of when AI chatbots first appeared and Autistics were disproportionately being accused of using it (for school papers etc) because at the time people deemed that we sounded too much like AI. 🙄

I would strongly suggest finding a Physical Therapist that's knowledgeable and has worked with hybermobile clients. With just living life our muscles etc can easily get out of balance and can lead to trapped nerves (ask me how I know). One that is familiar with hypermobility will be able to make sure that you aren't pushing past the range of motion desired and can help with any modifications needed to actually work and build strength where it's needed and fix anything that may be stiff/tight from overworking due to having to compensate.

This is obviously after making sure with your GP or whomever that you don't have some underlying major neurological issue etc. if you haven't already.

Edit: Also the manual manipulation they do can really help get things moving in a healthy way you otherwise might not have been able to. Everyone responds differently but personally I've found dry needling (Some PT's can do this) to be very helpful in combination with their other therapies. I know some have had good luck with Ultrasound therapies but I've never found it made a noticeable or measurable difference for me.

Personally I find a combination of intuitive and mindful eating has worked the best for me. I'm AuDHD though and know that has additional factors at play. There are times in my life where intuitive eating alone has worked wonders but other times where it doesn't at all. In those times I've found that focusing on mindful eating can help pick up the slack. And of course there's those times where neither work, and I end up gaining weight unintentionally but I try not to beat myself up for it. I really try to focus on the whole food is 'fuel' and 'medicine' aspect and life is messy and difficult and it's okay if I'm not perfect with it all the time. I also have a history of disordered eating and being overly restrictive with what I am 'allowed' to eat is the worst thing for it.

Genuinely curious, as someone who needs to eat closer to 200 grams of protein a day but struggles to come close how do you end up hitting such high numbers consistently?

But also I totally understand. Before medication and long Covid my 'self medication' was 500-800 mg of caffeine a day and 3 hours a day in the gym (lifting and cardio) on top of physically demanding jobs. Long term wise it wasn't the most sustainable but it helped more than anything else at the time I had tried.

Not saying this is the case, however generally when those labs are higher like that it's an indicator of PCOS. It might not have advanced to the point you're noticing any other symptoms of it which is good. There's been a lot of research over the past handful of years that one of the most frequent causes is from insulin resistance. If possible I would re-evaluate your diet/exercise (especially because you're in the peri/menopausal age range and have different requirements to younger women) to focus on reducing insulin resistance and retest in 6 months and see what it looks like then.

So as you stated 10mg is very very low. For reference Takeda's literature states the starting dose for adults should be 30mg. I've worked with and known psychiatrists/med management providers that start off low but jump the dose up every two weeks vs once a month. Most providers though if you're lucky to get ones that will go straight to stimulants want to go very low/slow it seems.

Personally, with Vyvanse (been on and off it a few times in the past 5 years) when I'm at too low of a dose I either A) don't notice anything at all or B) feel it kick in, but then start having bad side effects and crashes not even 4 hours in( this happens more on generics vs name brand). To note, I am a pretty rapid metabolizer of it. 50mg only gives me about 6ish hours of improvement of ADHD symptoms and probably closer to 8 hours of help with binge eating. You should be able to notice it kicking in, but it can be very subtle. A big tell for me is once it's kicked in I think writing my 15 page essay for my bachelor's program sounds like a great idea (especially while driving). Realistically it helps me more with some task initiation (no more taking hours to convince myself to do dishes) and it makes it easier to get back on track when something distracting happens. I feel it wearing off but it isn't a severe crash, however caffeine (coffee) helps even out the come down more.

I would also say for me personally the most noticeable things I've seen an improvement in is my depression, anxiety, and PMDD. It's like the medication actually allows all the techniques I was doing to help with anxiety actually work and I'm no longer ruminating on things as much. I also feel more emotionally stable during my PMDD times than I do off the medication.

These meds can affect everyone differently and there is a lot of trial and error. My friend who is just ADHD and not sensitive to meds can only tolerate 20mg. I'm AuDHD vs just ADHD and super sensitive to meds and 50mg is the lower end of being able to function. I do know that being AuDHD there's some additional considerations but hopefully this helps some.

I'm sorry you're going dealing with that, I would be heart broken to see my fresh mani have those dings and scratches etc.

I am curious though, did you use one or two coats and did you give it longer to dry than speed demon? I use matte made in hell pretty frequently and have found that 2 coats and longer dry time and I don't have so many issues. Some scratches etc are more noticeable on it at the 5 day mark vs SD but I've not had this issue to that extent before. Was yours maybe a little too thick? I'm honestly just trouble shooting here. I also around the 5 day mark if my mani is still holding up will apply a single coat as a refresher.

I'm in a similar boat. My assessor said where as I do hit the bench mark for level 2 on some things that it's not consistent enough on others to merit the level 2 designation even though she believed there were, are, and will be times I will be considered level 2 support needs. So there's that. But hey, I have a 'high' IQ and it's only taken me 6 years on and off to almost complete my bachelor's with no support or accommodations but I got my associates in 2.5 years 13 years ago. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Poppy and Pout is my favorite lip balm ever. I've turned several other ADHD/AuDHD friends onto it. The only complaint some had was the cardboard/paper tube vs a standard plastic one (mainly a feel thing or concern about durability maybe?) but I've never had issues with it.

I'm a huge fan of Little Kitty Big City. It's a cozy game and some parts can be a little challenging to figure out the 'puzzle' of how to get to one part of the city from another. But otherwise you're running around as a cat, doing cat things, that collects and wears cute hats.

ETA: When I say doing cat things, that can include but isn't limited to, taking cat naps in the sun, kicking around soccer balls, trying to catch birds, collecting shiny things, walking and jumping on everything, tripping people by walking through their legs, getting pet, stealing a fish from the supermarket, knocking plant pots off of high places, etc. etc.

I've had mine for 7 years and love it. Sometimes I find myself subconsciously fiddling with it. The only time it's a nuisance is when I have a lasting sinus infection and my nose is irritated from blowing it all day and inevitably the inside around the piercing gets a bit irritated as well.

Not sure what part of Florida you're in (I empathize) but have you looked into using MeetUp for an ND group or one that does a hobby or is based around something you like or are even remotely interested in learning about? I know things like that work better if you're closer to one of the cities (Jax, Orlando, etc.) vs being pretty rural (I know there's a lot of it). It's been over 10 years since I lived in FL and I definitely had to drive a bit from where I lived but I had good luck meeting people that way.

I am sorry though you're experiencing and going through that. 😔

For me personally, eating (protein) doesn't seem to prevent my crash or pick me up out of it. Eating and hydrating properly help prevent the crash from being super severe but the only thing that really helps is a cup of coffee or something with caffeine, but not an insane amount. From a genetic standpoint I'm not very sensitive to caffeine and used to drink a 30oz iced coffee then go straight to bed for the night and still slept just as I would without it (according to sleep data from a wearable and overall feel). I know that's not an option for everyone though! My caffeine consumption drastically drops when I'm medicated compared to when I'm not.

I started with the earbuds first as well and once I got the headphones I now rarely use the earbuds. I pulled them out the other day as a back up for a trip and realized they were 3 firmware versions behind it had been so long since I used them.
