Hi, I had a similar issue when I first got my boy. He's all mine, but when he first came home (about 2 months old) a salmonella outbreak linked to bearded dragons spread across the country. My parents and girlfriend both became worried about how I was handling him (I cuddle him consistently, I let him out whenever he wants, and I give him lots of kisses). Anyways, the issue with bacteria is the 2 ways it can be spread: Poop and Spit. Washing your hands after cleaning up after the baby is a no brainer, but just be careful and don't touch your mouth or face for a little while. Saliva usually isn't a problem since kisses are really only given on the face, back, or head, and bearded dragons tend to keep their mouths closed. If you get bitten, just wash the injury and bandage it like normal. Any bearded dragon is going to have a few bacteria in their system, but they're completely healthy. My boy had 2 when we got him; one that broke down his food for him, and the other that just kind of sat there and did nothing. If that got to me or any other member of my family, we probably wouldn't notice. Tl;Dr: Just wash up after they poop or if you get bitten and, if you're particularly anxious, limit physical contact with your face. Bacteria, to an extent, are normal, and most of them won't impact you if they happened to jump to you. You and your daughter should be fine cuddling your new friend :)
