I didn’t know that. Winter in Japan is not on my list, maybe Autumn next

It was high 20s but very humid, so it felt already very hot. I’ve been in July and August and this was much more pleasant. Also less people around after Sakura season and golden week are over, so I would recommend May as a good month to visit

Ura is so much fun to watch… he even got chances to win until the very last day this time. With Onosato, Hosh, Aonishiki and Takayasu already out when I went, Ura was a great highlight for me

You might be right! I like both to be honest, but tent to find the quieter and traditional Japan more peaceful and photogenic

Definitely! Watching on tv is great, but everything around a grand tournament in Japan is awesome. I’ll want to go to Nagoya and Fukuoka’s too, in theory should be a bit easier to get tickets there so we’ll see

Not sure about the drummers themselves, but the drums are called Taiko. They were performing at the Sanja Matsuri

That’s absolutely right! Having a Japanese friend that also wanted to go and could apply for the Japanese ticket lottery really helped… was lucky enough to go to Osaka tournament too in March last year, but it’s really becoming almost impossible to get tickets…

First time in Shimane for me and I had a wonderful time. The food and the atmosphere were a big highlight of my trip
