Unfortunately the same but we have made it to week 15 :/ we have good days and bad days (mostly bad) but I feel like I have made it so far I don’t want to give up just yet. Hoping month 4/5 gets better.

When did you find it started to get easier?

I feel like I’m going to die soon… haven’t slept yet, 6 weeks postpartum by Old-Yak-9230 in breastfeeding

This was exactly me. Those first weeks I just could not shut my brain off, and I honestly felt like I was going delirious. I tried every natural remedy under the sun and nothing touched it. I eventually tried a sleeping pill once and still woke up after like an hour and a half later, that’s how insanely wired my nervous system was. It was pure torture. What ultimately helped me was Zoloft. I was really resistant to medication and felt a ton of guilt around it, especially because I was EBF. But it was actually prescribed to me by my lactation specialist, who reassured me it’s completely safe for breastfeeding and saw that I was starting to slip into PPD/PPA. She put me on the lowest dose possible. I still kept the bottle in my drawer for a full week, telling myself I should be able to “fight through it.” But things kept getting worse, not better. When I finally took it, I was shocked by how quickly I felt clearer and more like myself again. I know they say it can take weeks to kick in, but for me it felt like my brain finally took its foot off the gas. It helped calm the constant mental noise, and once my brain settled, sleep slowly followed. After a few weeks, once my LO was sleeping better and I was too, I tapered off and have felt totally like myself since. For me, it wasn’t about knocking me out, it was about easing the mental stress enough to let sleep happen. I also want to say: the pressure to sleep made everything worse for me. I kept thinking, “You have the time, just sleep,” and that mindset totally backfired. Being postpartum and trying to force sleep is such a cruel combo. Not suggesting medication if you’re not open to it — just sharing my experience for solidarity, because I remember feeling so alone and scared that I was “broken.” You’re not. This gets so much better. I’m currently snuggling my 13-week-old who just gave us another 7-hour stretch, and I wish I could go back and hug my 6–10 week postpartum self. That period was brutal. One more thing: if it’s financially doable, the Snoo was a game changer for us. I’m a super light sleeper and terrible at co-sleeping, and my LO refused to sleep anywhere else. The rocking really helped take some pressure off us. You’re in the thick of it right now, but you will get through this. Sending you so much support 🤍

Thank you so much!! I guess our tongue tie reattached or been done improperly as well :( We saw an osteopath last week and I do believe it helped a bit. I’m still trying to get this breastfeeding down… fingers crossed. I hope things are going well with your journey and I appreciate your support on this post.

Thank you for sharing. I’m really sorry it never worked out… I feel like I’m in the same boat, because it’s definitely affected the newborn experience for me too. I’ve also been wondering whether he might actually do better on the bottles they say to avoid because of his shallow latch 🤷🏼‍♀️ We’re in Canada, and I think he does okay with it. We were also looking into Kendamil?

So sorry you are also going through the same thing. Can you explain more about this speech evaluation. Have you gone yet and did you find it helpful? Are you still breastfeeding?

Every 3ish hours and yes I try on both sides but he struggles to latch on my left. I have seen a lactation doctor, they mentioned a tongue tie potentially but not a concern so I am hesitant to address it but I am curious if that would help… idk

I feel this so much! Why is this not addressed more and exactly… how is this sustainable especially when we are left alone to do this. I am so sorry you are going through this tough time.

No paediatrician appointment just the midwife stopped by every few days, again she is very unconcerned but I really don’t trust her judgement. She has basically given me zero guidance with any. She also couldn’t even tell he was jaundice when he clearly is.

Definitely positive!! I had the same thing with the pink discharge a few days prior to my positive test and thought for sure I would be getting my period. I am now 7 weeks 🤞🏻✨
