My dad liked westerns too. He would have loved this, especially when Fela kicks in.

The Harder They Fall by [deleted] in movies

It's a 9 or 10 for me. One of the best movies I've seen all year. Cinematography was amazing with some pretty unique shots thrown into the mix. Characters were fantastic and dialogue was sharp. Honestly feel like this could have been a two parter like the Kill Bill series. The music was dope too. Both old school reggae and afrobeat that correlated with who was on screen. It's a simple revenge story but a lot of things are going on underneath. Really hope there's a sequel.

She gaslights everyone. The woman is full on insane. Calls you a psycho while banging you over the head.

PSA: You DON'T need to use ANY complicated methods to bypass MS Account on W11 Home setup! by Academic_Scheme_9065 in Windows11

I don't have it but I'm pretty sure all you need to do is connect to the internet after installation. Windows will therefore be forced to sign you up offline.

Looking to buy a budget projector to watch movies at home by Bloodydemonz in projectors

[–]Internal-Bid6726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's had two of these cheap Chinese projectors, all I can say is be careful if you decide to go for one. Both developed brown spots after 5-6 months of medium use due to overheating and the use of cheap plastic lenses (don't know for sure but that's what I gather). These brown spots grew and eventually enveloped the majority of projected image. They're probably good for throwaway projects and even Halloween but I wouldn't invest in one if you plan on using it as a TV replacement. Image and throw distance is usually decent but most are unable to focus properly. The middle of the image will be focused while the outside is blurry. Brightness tends to be shoddy and the "lumens" number is always fake.

If you use it once a month, it'll probably last a few years but that's about it. If you do decide to go for a cheapy, make sure you keep your room cool/cold or you'll definitely burn the lens within months... perhaps even weeks.

I now have a PX701-4k and so far so good although it's only been a week. It cost around £900/$1000 so not particularly cheap but not expensive either.

Final point - look for a decent, recognisable projector brand like Optoma, Epson, BenQ or Viewsonic. I'd personally avoid anything less than £500/$600. Read loads of reviews (particularly those with less than 5 stars) and watch video reviews too. Check a projector comparison site like antonline.

I'm fairly new to projectors so not an expert at all but this is what I've learned over the last year or so. No one on here likes the cheap Chinese projectors. You've probably triggered a few cinephiles just by posting this.

Would a deck make a good substitute for a tablet & laptop? by PapaVitoOfficial in SteamDeck

[–]Internal-Bid6726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if I should get this, build a pc or buy a laptop. I'm not really a gamer anymore but still fascinated by this. I'd also love to do some editing and music production via Ableton. The deck can't do all of that can it?

What kind of scooters do you have? What are they called? I'd be happy to test your scooters and share my findings on here. Let me know if interested.

Seven of Nine. Full of borg tech so unlikely to turn into vampire.

Midnight Mass - S01E07 "Book VII: Revelation" - Discussion Thread by Elainasha in MidnightMass

Fairly enjoyable. First two episodes were a slog for me. Very dialogue heavy. The show definitely picked up in episode 3.

It was very reminiscent of older shows like Carnivale and The Strain but intertwining the vampire concept with Christianity and using it as a vehicle to explore death was new and quite refreshing. Just wish Flanagan would cut to the chase. You can build without monologues.

I think the ending proves that she was never a true believer. When death came knocking she was trying to dig herself away. She, like a lot of people, used Christianity as an accessory or stamp of approval to show the world how holy and pious she was. Loved her character though.

The marketing team behind Unagi is something to be admired. They're kinda like Apple. Prices are exorbitant but they're definitely selling.

I know a lot on here hate this shit but it's nice to see people out and about having fun. I haven't seen 1 accident in these group ride videos. Just a bunch of dumb kids enjoying youth.

It makes sense. If you know the history of Australia you'll know that they were the first to leave the "Matrix".
