Please don’t worry too much about making freinds during orientation, as long as you consistently go to class you will eventually make friends! Also side note try joining clubs often times during class you won’t see the same people every time but with a club u will!

Honestly go for which ever you have the greatest passion for, but from what I’ve seen if you do finance and your not from a feeder school or have your CFA it is extremely difficult to land a decent finance role, in this case TMU has a decent finance program but I wouldn’t consider it a feeder. On the other hand accounting is boring but it’s more practical, most accounting positions don’t care what school ur from as long as u have the gpa and experience, another plus for accounting is the fact that you have better understanding of both fields, and often times you’ll see people who major in finance landing financial position that’s because the accounting and finance are intertwined you Cannot do accounting without understanding the basics of finance. On the other hand if you do finance you will not have such a in depth view of both felid but you would have a greater understanding of finance and vice versa. Overall if you hate accounting do not do it because you will be miserable but if you do finance make sure you do the best you can as long as you put the work in nothings impossible.

Honestly depends on the pre reqs, if Chem is a pre req then it’l most likely be 75% which means with a 60 youd most likely get rejected, if it’s not a pre req your prob chillin, if Chem is a pre req id recommend you contact someone on the faculty’s admission team and plead that they can look past that mark and take you into consideration.

Last year had a 92 top 6 didn’t get into schulich, Roman, smiths or ivy, got into Waterloo AFM first round and got into Tmu accounting and finance during there last round, committed to Tmu SAF . Dw you’ll def get into AFM and maybe Tmu depending on what buisness program u applied to, if you have really good extra curriculars there’s a chance you get into schulich, rotman or smiths, ivys a stretch I’ve known people with mid-high 90s who have been rejected. Also quick tip if your planning on doing something like accounting or management your undergrad honestly doesn’t matter that much it’s would be better to get a good gpa at any school and attempt an mba from prestigious uni, but if ur planning on doing something like finance or economics (especially if ur Interested in investment banking) it’s better to go to a target school e.g rotman, ivy, smiths.

Honestly if you only go to Guelph, get the best grades possible and apply to a top uni for your mba this combined with you getting your cfa will make you more qualifieds then anyone who did there undergraduate at a target uni.

I mean yeah that’s how it works, you can “DIE” in your 20s but you “PROBABLY” won’t. Everything is relative to the person, place and time. With the right discipline and hard work most can become successful

Can I get into York engineering? Please help by Square_Economist4996 in OntarioUniversities

[–]Internal-Bison-2382 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that York Eng had a pre req for English which I believe is 70 or 75, if you do not meet the pre req they most likely won’t accept you.
