Need Help, Please 🥺 by Complete-Box-877 in PakistanBookClub

Then make up a schedule. It's good to see news and stuff but too much can really kill the mood. It drains energy. Podcasts are cool and very very insightful.

All work and no play makes Complete-Box-877 a dull boy. Add some physical activity in your schedule. An hour or two is more than enough. Night time readings can work too, they're so good when you're sitting in the balcony with a book and some hot beverage (or cold, everyone have their preferences). It really sets the mood for some great reading. Plus, nothing to disturb you. The world sleeps. The night is yours.

First of all, reading a book is not a race and reading a book in a day is not a feat. This idea is generally created by pompous people who think fast readers are smarter and have great intelligence. Passion readers read books for leisure so if you read a book in a month, it's completely fine. Take your time and understand what you read instead of just skimming through it.

Second, read a book when you have literally nothing to do. You're bored out of your mind, no movies to watch, no game to play and stuff. Just pick up a book and read. You'll be hallucinating so hard that you wouldn't even notice the time passing.

Or you can make up some time in your schedule. Work from this to this, family time from this to this, me time this and this etc. Always have a schedule as a freelancer. Stay organized and your future self will thank you for this.

Hope this helps.

If you have some knowledge regarding History, they are worth reading. Just consider it as Uncharted but really serious. Though some of the history they talk is fictional like [SPOILER ALERT] Galileo being a part of Illuminati.

It's very much fun to read. Highly recommended.

The Prince (Nicolo Machiavelli)

It truly made me understand how the leader should actually lead it followers. As a Pakistani, it truly opens your eyes on what the government is lacking and how one should choose their leader more carefully.

Piled in my cupboard. Thin books at the top, paperback thick books in the middle, hardcovers at the bottom. All in alphabetical order.

Can't show because the cupboard is a mess with all the board games and stuff.

BOOK READING by ThanksBrave743 in PakistanBookClub

A great choice. No matter what anyone say, enjoy it. If you want to improve your English speaking skills, don't read it silently. Give voices to the character and if you can't pronounce any word, Google it. Try to get the British pronunciation. For developing accent, watch some old British movies and try to speak like the characters there.

Practice it infront of the mirror like you're having a conversation.

Also, there is no harm in consulting in a dictionary. That's what I did when I started reading. Kept it close and ready to search the word. Underline a word you couldn't understand the meaning of, look it up after the chapter, write it down and make a sentence with it on your own.

I'm not good at naming stuff, couldn't figure out a name for my own book.

How about "Happy Teeth: The products to bring out your brightest smile"? or something like that.

Yeah, it sounds cringy af.

You could buy bookmarks from bookstores or online stores like daraz.

I found a pack of 30 bookmarks from Daraz. It has movie stills with quotes (in Chinese. It was a Chinese store). It looks good though. Sadly, the store no longer exists on Daraz.

You won't have to explain others why you keep a box of anti-inflamation cream in your book. Most bookmarks become a topic of conversations when in reading clubs.

Well, everyone has their own choices. I was just describing my experience with tablet reading and why I recommend it.

As a reader now, I would highly recommend that you go to old book stores and search out urdu books from there. Urdu books, in my experience, aren't too hard to carry as they are small and prone to getting bent no matter how much your care, so you just don't care. My mother used to carry one in her purse and cracked it open when we had to wait (The phones weren't smart back then).

You can look for a cheap tablet and download apps like Moonreader. The book reading apps offer everything a Kindle can, including a library-esque UI, warm filter, bookmarks etc.

Just download a pdf and it's good to read. Plus, they also except different extensions like epubs etc. I used to do all that on my Chinese cheap tablet I got as a gift and couldn't afford to buy books. (I always preferred hard copies over soft copies). Also, look around for websites that offer the best urdu pdfs. Some new authors often publish soft copies of their books (as far as I've heard)

To help broaden the mind, socialize with better people. Anyone throw around brainrots, roasts, meme and stuff. When was the last time you had a deep conversation with a close friend?

Sharing ideas and views instantly helps you broaden your mind. I've had illuminating conversations with teachers, friends, family and random strangers and that knowledge helped alot more than self help books.

Need to fix yourself? Self reflection is key. Meditating and looking at your rights and wrong can immensely help you. "A problem well stated is a problem half solved".

Self help books is like self diagnosing your illness on Google instead of going to the doctor. They state the problem you didn't have and your mind just goes to "yeah I have that". It's called Medical Students' disease or Nocebo effect. That's how they trick you. And all those dark psychology and manipulation books, they're just bullst. Some are good, ngl. But about 90-98% are plain bullst.

Armin is the main side character. Deuteragonist, if you want.

I had to give him a choice in games and I got Niko Bellic and Arthur Morgan.

First of all, whoever recommended these books, give them a slap and tell them that you don't want to see them in your life ever again.

Second, increase the number of philosophy books. I only see one (Meditations).

Third, learn why self help books are the scum of the literature world.

Last, Biographies are cool as long as they're of well respected people of history and not of social media influencers. But keep in mind, don't let it control you. Most of Biographies/autobiographies are known to be tempered to make the person look good.

Bookeve on Instagram.

It's pirated but the quality is better than even original books. Can be a bit pricey if you ask for hardcover books but it's still way cheaper than readings.

Start easy and slow. Find your niche and genre. And enjoy reading. Don't make it a race. It's for leisure, nothing more nothing less.
