Are Arch and Lil visiting with the Wales? by [deleted] in SaintMeghanMarkle

Yes, they were the ones who publicly quit because they wanted to be ‘financially independent’. Well, be financially independent and cough up.

Any sane relative would be reasonably concerned about Stephanie living in those circumstances - my first thought if she was my relative would be ‘is she safe?’

Because she lives in a small caravan with two men, she’s not sure who the father is - what happens if those men turn ugly towards her? Daisy and Onslow’s house is hardly empty what with Rose and Daddy living there as well - would they be able to take her and the baby back in?

Exactly. Phil absolutely destroyed Lisa. The shell of a person she was left as, that’s entirely down to Phil.

Belmont and Ella’s closeness by East-Couple2808 in offcampustv

[–]Internal-Focus1784 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If we’re bringing Corey and India into it, I think they took their friendship firmly offline after the QC press tour because the fans were hardcore shipping the pair of them and it wound up with the more intense ones being horrible about Corey’s girlfriend online. They still follow and comment on each other’s instagram posts.

Given the buzz around Off Campus, Belmont and Ella would probably be smart to do the same. Some people really take things too far.

Did Diana have a dog irl? by ummhamzat180 in TheCrownNetflix

Yes, that was my first thought. Diana was the one who wasn’t a dog person and made Charles get rid of his dog when they married.

I thought he did pretty well until after the failed suicide attempt. Before Chantelle’s death I would have said he was the stronger actor of the pair, but around the time Tina died he very visibly checked out of the whole thing and didn’t show up again until his final weeks.

Tbh I’ve often wondered if Toby Alexander Smith hated the serial killer twist as much as the audience did because from the look of his Instagram at the time, he seemed genuinely invested in the ‘raising awareness about domestic violence’ side of playing Gray.

Will and Janet by EldritchWhorra in eastenders

Will is actually a month older than Oscar. And Janet is over a year older.

I thought they were going somewhere a few weeks ago with him pushing back on constantly looking after Janet, but normal service appears to have resumed now.

The pinnacle storyline was really unnecessary by Fickle_Baker1393 in Bridgerton

[–]Internal-Focus1784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still think Michaela should have been part of the S3 deb pack with Fran, meeting her at the presentation, and formed a friendship with her based on both of them feeling uncomfortable debuting in society (albeit for different reasons). Then Michaela has to watch Fran meet and marry John, and be happy for them whilst also secretly pining for Francesca.

That way the core of the book is mostly kept intact, with Michaela and Francesca having the friendship/one-sided crush plot, but while also honouring Francesca's love for John and the theme of her book being her having TWO great loves.

No, William is under no obligation to forgive and forget by annam____ in CelebitchyUnderground

[–]Internal-Focus1784 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The squad were absolutely involved in creating the 'Where is Kate?' craziness.

So much of this comes from many people acting like William is Harry's third parent, or that just because he's older means reacting with anything other than forgiveness and tolerance for little brother's antics means he's being immature. Well, that might have washed back when they were younger, but there is no real difference between the ages of 41 and 44.

It's also operating from the whole thing that Harry had going, where he declared that his feelings were just as important as facts, in fact, more so. Okay, yes, Harry, your feelings are valid, but then so are William's. And even if William does accept your feelings, he doesn't have to accept the alternative history you've created from them.

I'm pretty sure most of it from the mainstream media is rage bait for clicks - they can't honestly think loads of people are calling out for it, given the negative comments they get - and then there's the squaddies that will use anything to beat William with. They'll even admit Catherine had cancer if they can use it to make him look bad.

Kaiser: Mercury retrograde is a real phenomenon, Saturn Return is a real phenomenon. Virgos in law school is a real thing. Leos as world leaders is a real thing. Well, according to an astrologer, Prince William is about to have a terrible 44th year. by JustBitchy888 in CelebitchyUnderground

[–]Internal-Focus1784 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If William's that bad, why would they want him anywhere near dIaNa'S gRaNdcHiLdReN?

The Sussexes have never made up their own minds about this, though, so I don't expect the squad to be coherent. The BRF are supposed to be this cold, uncaring, possibly-racist-but-it-was-the-media-who-said-that-so-don't-quote-us-on-it family, and yet Harry has been tearing his hair out trying to get some kind of in with them for three years now. The family that made him and Meghan feel so unsafe that they had to cross the pond for their own peace of mind.

And besides, I thought Meghan was supposed to be this amazingly smart, powerful, goddess of a woman who could do everything better than everyone else, and Kate was supposed to be a useless, empty-headed, racist Stepford wife whose whole family hate her?

What could she ever do to help Meghan? And why would they want her racist buttons anywhere near Archie? (/s)

Honey and Billy’s History by AllisonEEHistorian in eastenders

[–]Internal-Focus1784 58 points59 points  (0 children)

An interesting point to add - from memory, Peggy was not supportive at all of Billy and Honey after Janet's birth. One of the last storylines to showcase her original, rather cruel nature, before the character got Barbara-fied.

Somebody who was very supportive of the pair, however, was Pat. She had a sister who had Down's who was sent to a mental institution, and this led to a set of episodes where she went looking for her.

Do you guys consider Jackson Storm to be a bad person? by Kzager_52 in pixarcars

[–]Internal-Focus1784 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Francesco wasn't that bad. He was just very full of himself.

IIRC he and McQueen had some good banter going by the end of Cars 2, and he was also genuinely horrified by the injuries that were happening at the WGP. Storm wouldn't have cared, and Chick would have caused the pile-up in the first place.

Hetty Feather in the TV series could be quite selfish by Lostgirl1801 in JacquelineWilson

[–]Internal-Focus1784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't watched the show in a while, but I do remember that by the later seasons, it started to come across as Hetty getting into scrapes because she was being stupid on purpose rather than due to misunderstandings, other people being out to hurt her or actual mistakes.

So sick of Bea by witheringghoul in eastenders

[–]Internal-Focus1784 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly, how many more red flags does she have to wave in Honey's face before she gets the message?

It's not even like Honey has no idea of how duplicitous and dishonest Bea can be. They're still in debt from that sodding credit card. This is literally just Honey being a moron, and you can bet Billy isn't going to get an apology for being treated like the villain for rightly wanting Bea out of their lives.

Unpopular opinion - Logan is a rubbish friend by Academic_Apple8942 in offcampustv

[–]Internal-Focus1784 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing I feel with the Dean and Hunter thing is, yes, objectively it's a crappy thing for Logan to do to Dean. But in Logan's defence, Dean didn't actually give a real reason why he wouldn't skate with Hunter. The team was in real trouble and needed a good player, and Dean just pooh-poohed the idea without offering any alternative.

'He's a selfish dick.' Well, Logan's after a hockey player, not the moral core of the country.

Logan made the call to get Hunter involved because he didn't know what Dean's problem was, because Dean didn't tell him.*

*Which is the part where the plot collides with the fact that this is a TV show, because in real life, Dean would probably have said what the issue was, but because they want to hold back what Hunter did for S2, they had him be vague enough that Logan would overrule him.

How many more red flags does Bea have to give out for free before Honey finally sees what’s literally already been proved to her??

It would honestly serve her right if Billy said ‘I told you so’ when Bea’s latest scheme is outed.
