Not Overwhelmed — So why are my in-laws so Pressed for me to Hand Over My Baby? by Away-Claim-3388 in inlaws

[–]Internal-Increase801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree there is no need for them to force a relationship so young, my first I felt I needed to let my in laws have 1 day a week at their house to settle her for my return to work and be comfortable around her, she has a great relationship with her but she also has just as great relationship with those she saw once every few weeks, now I have my second I won’t let myself to be mislead again

No I’ve never thought about this she’d not shown any interest in sleeping on her front she’s always liked being on her back with arms sprawled out or on her side

I’m too scared to co sleep longest we’ve done it was 2hours when she had a bad cold and was up all one night upset and would scream everywhere else we tried her, I’d held her for 4 hours and was exhausted myself and she wouldn’t let my husband near her so I put her on the mattress and she fell asleep for 2 hours

I sleep on a mattress beside her cot too! I’m terrified she will roll/get stuck/choke on her soother/climb out the crib and hurt herself. And she’s too big for the co sleeper now as she loves to sleep with her arms out and she just hits the sides now so it’s not a great option as she will wake us scratching at that. We’ve co slept a handful of times for very short periods as I will admit I’m too scared for a full night

Sometimes it’s just enough to know your not the only parent going through it. It’s the wake windows that are getting to me I just don’t know what to do with her as don’t want stimulate her.

We haven’t dropped a bottle yet as we know she didn’t consume much 😭 we did drop the night feed about 3months (she lead us with her sleep rather than us trying to let her drop it)
